Genesis 3: Temptation, Knowledge, and ConsequencesThis document is an extensive analysis of Genesis 3 from the Bible, focusing on its spiritual and metaphysical interpretations. It explores temptation, knowledge, and consequences in the story of Adam and Eve, the serpent, and the forbidden fruit, delving into themes such as temptation, knowledge, and the consequences of human actions. The material emphasizes the deeper symbolic meanings and spiritual lessons derived from this chapter.

At the end of reading 10-133 there was a pause and the channel deferred to a higher source (just after Genesis 3:16) and a message was given:

“And now we defer to that which is the Voice, the Light, and the Life.”

Genesis 3:1-3

Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman, “Yea, hath God said, ‘Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?’” And the woman said unto the serpent, “We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, ‘Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.’”

S This is, then, the statement: as experience begins to teach desire, desire working on that which is the intellect, the intellect in turn feeding desire, with not the will being considered, only as to that which is the authority of God or God saying, “Thou shalt not do.” This, then, sets up now the pattern of man’s learning stages.

Genesis 3:4-6

And the serpent said unto the woman, “Ye shall not surely die: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.” And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.

S Here you have the misuse of those forces as seen as the serpent within self, not correctly developed, not used, not understood, at that time, being for those later elements to be used and yet called forth, then, and this feeds, then, the intellect on the desires of same.

Genesis 3:7-9

And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons. And they heard the voice of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God amongst the trees of the garden. And the Lord God called unto Adam, and said unto him, “Where art thou?”

S As the development came, then, of the intellect dominated then by the mind’s desire, so then mankind began to face the consequences of the ill-choice, or even that which in the long run becomes a positive choice, for the learning, then, is through the basic elements of this plane.  Mankind finds that they must protect self and uses symbolically here the fig leaf, even as in later times the Way, the Truth, and the Light used that which is as the fig or the fig tree as a symbol of resurrection or the understanding of same.

Genesis 3:10-13

And he said, “I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself.” And He said, “Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat?” And the man said, “The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat.” And the Lord God said unto the woman, “What is this that thou hast done?” And the woman said, “The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat.”

S In short, you have the age-old pitfall for mankind. The blame is elsewhere; always another or another thing is at fault. As given earlier in this reading, the will overcometh all things, all cleansing, all purging. Thus, then, God knew that the plan, or alternate, would be in effect and mankind knew then that they must then secure themselves in the search, for they had lost that ability to protect self by the innocence or that which is purity. And thus, then, you and yours began the search for the redemption, for the coming, for the overcoming, as Jesus the Christ came to overcome and to redeem.

Genesis 3:14-15

And the Lord God said unto the serpent, “Because thou has done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life: And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.”

S This is then the establishment of karma and even though, as we have given, karma may be overcome by the correct use of the will which establishes faith, love, and peace.

Genesis 3:16

Unto the woman he said, “I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.”

S You have, then, the mind power ruling over the constructive or the holding or the creative ability which has been given to mankind, not only in the physical, but in the spiritual nature of things.

And now we defer to that which is the Voice, the Light, and the Life.

 [Long pause]

Behold the Truth. Behold the Word. Though you may stumble, though you may seek, though you may search and find obstacles instead of doors, never ever forget that the Lord is one God, that the Lord walks among you. For you are indeed created in His image. For that which is life in you is life within God. You have been told you are corpuscles in the body of God and yet I give to you this: you are lights in God’s eyes. You are spirit in God’s spirit. You are love in God’s world. Then bear up, even though at this time there are those things which you would see that would inhibit, those things that you would hear that would tear the heart. For know this: each of you as the individual must face your own crucifixion, must face your own cross, must know the time of the raising of the spirit. And know this: the reward is of the spirit and not within this life, not in the physical plane, not in rewards of gold and silver, not rewards in praise, not rewards as super intelligence, but rewards in love and the raising above this plane by bringing your brother, your sister, to My feet.

S This is a magnification or that which we will give as a magnification of that which is already preceded as the entering or entering statement of this reading. For none of you can realize the opportunity that presents itself to you through that which is the overcoming of karma, or cause and effect, by Jesus the Christ. To come to His feet is to the understanding of His way, to become as He or to come to His feat which is the action (f-e-a-t), that which is becoming christed in your own way through that which is the emulating of the path of Jesus the Christ. Know you this, that though you may not be as He, you may act as He and become as He became. This, then, is the meaning of the second ‘feat.’ (10-135)

Prayer – Channel

Oh Creator, Father-Mother God, Lord, we seek to understand, to be used, to be a help to our fellow man. Help us to be Your children, Your servants, Your friends. We would walk in the way of the Christ. We need Your help, Lord, as always. And as always, “Others first, Father, others first.”

Peace. I give you peace, love, repentance, the awakening, the beginning, that you may cast aside all that has been passed and receive all that is the future, and serve in the now. Behold the day of the Lord! Behold the truth and the light!

Genesis 3:17-19

And unto Adam he said, “Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, ‘Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life; Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field; In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.”

S In the opportunity to learn to use the forces of the physical body, the physical world, the mental-physical being, so then man was encapsulated into that which was to become for all mankind the series of rebirths, thus the thistles, the thorns, the sweat of the brow. For those instincts of the man-beast must then dominate for the survival of the body which now encased or imprisoned that force, that light that is the soul force and the spiritual being of each entity. Thence to learn through toil (not only of the body but of the mind and that which is toil to the spiritual being) was mankind then sentenced to by their own acts, their own need to know, to explore, to satisfy the curiosity that mankind had cultivated or awakened within itself.

Genesis 3:20

And Adam called his wife’s name Eve; because she was the mother of all living.

S This is the dedication or the exposure of love as that which is the holding action or that which in its greater sense, not love as you would know it as the true spiritual love (not developed yet), but feelings, not to be mixed with emotions, desires, wants, but feelings. Thus, Eve is the mother of that which is dedicated to feeling, or the feelings, those feelings towards God, towards one another, that lead then to the development of love – even as Mary became feelings incarnate or that which was love incarnate or the holding action, even as Eve, for Him who became the Christ.

Q Feelings and love here are synonymous with the word ‘living.’ Is that correct?

S This is correct, not to the spiritual love, but leading that link that is necessary, even as that link of earthy love as seen in later times in the development of love in this earth that led to the greater love or the fulfilling or flowering the love through Jesus the Christ.

Genesis 3:21-22

Unto Adam also and to his wife did the Lord God make coats of skins, and clothed them. And the Lord God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live forever:

S This is the presentation to humankind of intelligence, intelligence to be the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not used in this plane – not that intelligence of the spirit. For mankind had not earned the right to return to that. But, yet it is the intelligence that gave mankind, humankind, the ability to develop those things necessary to create the atmosphere or the ability to move forward and once again upward.

Genesis 3:23

Therefore, the Lord God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken.

S Because mankind had flowed into that which is the base or the baser elements or forms within this earth plane, so man then must be rooted to that which is the baser element, the earth itself, and be in partnership with same.

Genesis 3:24

So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.

S The light arises in the east, so man faces the east to develop that which is the spiritual awareness, keeping away from that which would lead man astray or give man that knowledge to bypass the learning procedure, which mankind could not do to become what it must become. It is that spiritual plane or awareness that mankind may develop in. Thus, the east is the symbol of that which is to come – the spiritual awakening.

Q Does this flaming sword represent karma?

S Not in this case. It represents that which is the strength of the Lord used to prevent mankind from bypassing the chosen path.

Q Does the flame part symbolize the flame that we must basically enter or pass to burn away our karmic seeds from the past?

S To a degree, yes. It is that which must be faced and taken in hand by an individual in later times to be even as the reverse of the cross. For the cross is that which you bear for others, wherein the sword, or the sword of the Lord, or the flaming sword, is that which must be taken in hand that self must be cleansed the more.

Q It has been said that Eden was in Lemuria. Did that mean that Adam was driven from Lemuria at this time or later?

S Oh, physically, yes. But the true meaning of what is given here is that your kind were put forth from the ideal situation, for Eden is in itself another name for heaven.
