Behold the light! Behold that which is a guide, the beacon. And hold fast to that which is love. For charity, the love, is that stone that ye may hold to find the path, the way, the truth and the light. We are here. We have the group. We are ready for this reading.
C Those present in the room are 110, 114, 146, 199, 101, 131, and 178. The date is November the 10th, 1973, and the approximate time is 8:12 PM. You shall have before you the inquiring minds of all those present in the room.
S We have this group. We have the inquiring minds of each and every entity. And we would give at this time that the channel of the reading, (110), has not sufficiently prepared self to the utmost, though we will give the reading as sought. We would remind the channel that there are those tasks unfulfilled, well-known to the entity, to make that which is to come forth or to be, easier in transmission, and easier to be understood by all.
We are ready for questions at this time.
Q Please define prayer: the types, the methods, and the uses.
S First there is that prayer of joy and thanksgiving. This is as the prayer that should begin the day or begin the thoughts. This is that which opens and sanctifies the body, allowing that which is to come forth is of the prime, or the highest considerations. This, then, is that prayer that should flow freely throughout the day, throughout the night, in each and every entity. The mind turns to that which is the Creative Force, and love, and the understanding of same, and to those forces that the entities know and do not know, feeding thus that which is as the spiritual quality and quantities in each and every entity.
Q What is meant by joyous prayer?
S Prayer that is the essence thankful, that is full of cheer, of goodwill. But the essence is thanks, love, but thanking. Thanking God in the joy of life, and even in the adverse conditions seeing that which is as joyful. This is joyous prayer, that which wells up, that which fills the being with light, with lightness, that the cells themselves may respond in like manner. That is joyous prayer
We have that which is as the prayer of petition that should be, even for self, attuned or attained for others. That is to say, in the asking, in the seeking -even for self – the ends should be justified for that which is as for others rather than truly just for self. This, then, is the prayer that seeks the good, and love, and the constructive qualities for others. This is the prayer that leads to that which is as those prayers for health, welfare, for love, charity, for strength in others, for the healing and this way or that.
There are the prayers then for peace and love, for that which is as mankind, that which is as that which would benefit the most here, or the petition to bring peace, forgiveness, into this plane, the primary prayer for each and every individual.
But we would give further, then, that which is active prayer, more than has been given before. And that is to say the meat of the issue is that prayer be that which ye live by, that each and every act, every thought, every deed, is as prayer. For there is not the realization, not in this group, nor widespread in this plane, that everything you say or do or even that ye be, is as a prayer to the Maker. Would ye then put those thoughts before God that so often cross your mind – hatred, lust, self, these thoughts? Would ye curse to your God? Know then that until the time comes that every act is as prayer, that every thought is as prayer, ye have not attained in that which is prayer. This then is the goal for each and every individual, the goal of making each day a constant prayer. This is as that which is meant so oft, and often given “be in joyous prayer, oft in joyous prayer.” It must be then, through that, and its brother meditation, coming even as to the Prince of Peace where prayer and meditation became that which was the living standard. Prayer being that which as you know is the speaking, the talking, the giving of yourself to God, even in the actions of one to another in all things.
Q What spiritual laws must be set in order to have effective prayer?
S Well, here we have then the spiritual law as applied to each and every individual as a universe in self to be corrected, to be brought into balance.
First through the mental conditions of an entity, through that which is as the spiritual chain within self, through that which is the endocrine system, so that that in the body which is as the electrical flow going up through the body, around and down, is as an even, is as that which is unchanged but flowing in a regular, uninterrupted pattern in a never-ending circle even as the flow of God Himself is, in essence, a circle. Therefore, through faith, through the mind power of self, the attuning of that which is the spiritual nature of the soul force, even as given so often before, that the mind itself becomes that which is the tool of the will and the will the tool of the soul force within self or the highest spiritual nature of self that all then are attuned, and in tune, with that which is the spiritual nature of self, propelled by that which is as the seeking and the belief. For belief is as the cornerstone here, to believe in self as the child of God. Not that which is as the outer self – but the inner self – reflected throughout the body, balancing those systems as given, through spirit, through will, through mind. Then the physical nature of self will follow. It is also good then to arrange that which is the intake and the output of energies, in mind and in body, through the proper dieting, through the proper thinking, to follow the beginning or the attuning of the mind to the will and to the spirit.
Q What is the mechanism that makes prayer work?
S If you will picture that which is the atomic structure or that which is the atom, having that which is the nucleus and within that the mega-specks, the mega-particles, surrounded by that which are the protons and the electrons. Prayer is as that which puts in the proper range, so to speak, the atomic structure, putting that which is as the mega-specks, the mega-particles, in the nucleus in the correct manner or ranging so that the flow of the outer self and the inner self is as one, or to put it within self: Prayer is that which turns on the generator, which allows the outlets to be filled so that the lines, the wires, the plugs, may light the light and connect that which is as the light bulb to the Source of electricity. See?
Q Should prayer be addressed to anyone other than the Father?
S Well, would ye go less than the highest?
Q Is there any particular position we should assume when in prayer?
S Ye may stand on your head, lie on your back, kneel, squat. There is no position for prayer, for God knows no position. Prayer, unlike meditation, see, is that which even the beginner may do, or be, at any time, any place, any position.
Q Are positive affirmations which state that a desired effect is already a fact a proper prayer technique for us as individuals or as a group?
S Definitely so. For in that which is the will and the mind co-existence is that which forms, even in truth, even in this plane, a factual situation and brings about the truth as long as it is not for that which is self or selfishness.
Q Are denials necessary or helpful in terms of prayer for us as individuals or as a group?
S Generally speaking for all entities and especially for this group, the positive is that which is to be accentuated rather than the denials or the negatives.
Q Should we have an affirmation for use as a group? If yes, may we ask that we may be given an affirmation?
S LET THE LIGHT OF THE CHRIST FORCE SHOW THROUGH THIS GROUP; THAT HE IS TO COME, WILL KNOW THE WAY IS LIT AND THAT HIS FEET ARE SURE UPON THE PATH, HE WILL COME.
Q What is the relationship between prayer and meditation?
S As given so often, one is the speaking, the other is the listening; but prayer as given, is also, that which is the actual living. That is as one would consider the door, on one side being prayer, the other meditation, a step from one to the other. It is essential for meditation to be preceded by prayer. And He, the Master of Life Himself, is one who in constant prayer became in constant meditation or attunement. So that in speaking and in doing, in the actions, came the responses as immediate, or even more so, of God speaking in return. It is essential in prayer then to know, to believe, for it is true that God hears, sees, and knows in all things. Therefore, meditation must also be believed that God is speaking even ever so quietly, so humbly within self. And at the time each and every entity knows meditation and the truth, those feelings, those words, those actions that proceed and then come out of meditation will be that of the Force of Life Itself rather than self as an individual.
Q For what purpose was the seal given and how is it to be used? Is it to be an aid in meditation and/or prayer?
S First it is the mark of the group. First it is the mark of the movement proceeding from the group. It is that which even as the fish became, so shall the seal become. For those who are initiated or those who would seek in the manner that is necessary for the coming, for those times to be. It can, may be, meditated upon, may be worn as a reminder. For any seal is only that which the meaning is given. Use it not as a crutch but as a reminder, of the duty, of the place of each and every individual, especially as the group.
Q What day of the week is the true Sabbath and how should we observe it?
S The true Sabbath is seven days a week, twenty-four hours a day, et cetera, et cetera. For the Sabbath is that which is as the Lord’s Day and all are the Lord’s day, even as given, making prayer an all-day occurrence. So, the Sabbath is the Lord’s Day, each day, making each one that which you would give the most of self in the name of the Father.
Q Would it help the group to have (114) show Cayce’s extracts and give his comments on prayer and meditation?
S Yes, for the Source here was as that which is good, the instruction that which is helpful, and much is to be learned here from that Source, from that entity, or that which flowed through the entity.
Q Would it be better, sir, to use the slides that I used in that course or to use these extracts that I show in the slides which I’ve had made up and people could read and we could discuss together item by item. I’m holding them in my hand. (114)
S We have them. We would use the extracts that the entity has for the very purpose that they may be gone over by the individuals, discussed by the individuals as to their particular needs and the understanding is more clarified with that which is as group or group thought.
Q You said that we were to pray for peace. This has always bothered me, sir, because of interfering with law and . . .
S Ha. The peace of God which passeth understanding. Forgive us for not making this clear. Not for peace as man to man but peace within each man that they may find their way and understand their Maker. Even as peace was given through the Essenes so that He might come, so must a platform of peace within individuals and a group come into this world that He may come again, see?
Q Would we be able to be more effective in this work if we had certain stones, or metals, or colors? Do we each have an affinity that we should be using for strength?
S In the next lesson we will give that which is as for each individual or answer that which each individual would ask as to that which is as you have just asked or the meeting of the needs of each individual as to the work to be done at this time and to the understanding of each one’s place and duty toward self, or selves, to group, or groups. Therefore, as the next reading comes, the next lesson comes, let each and every one present those questions that are for the individual and the individual’s needs to perform more to that which is as the best of self in this core group.
Q We need to know about the date.
S As given before, on a ten.
Q Is there anything more that we should know about the use of prayer within our group, this group?
S Let it be unified. That it is good for this group to name the name of each individual, preceding the prayer that God use this group to His advantage in the return; and let this be several times a day, if possible, for each individual to think on the group, the cohesiveness of the group, and ask the Lord God’s blessing upon the group as individuals – even picturing self, for self is always one link in the group. Therefore, begin or end with self, naming each individual and blessing.
Q Yes. Would you please tell me the best way for a novice to begin and learn meditation, or to meditate? (146)
S First for the entity that asks the question, for each individual is as an individual. For God has created none alike and thine own experiences have made you even more unique than your neighbors. For this entity the color to be visualized even as a stone for the entity, the sapphire to see the star in the sapphire, to focus upon the thought here that this is the perfection of the Christ thought in being, that self in truth is as this stone reflecting, shining, putting forth those lights, those vibrations that are attuning self and others. Draw self towards the stone, knowing that it is also that aspect of the Christ Force that you would be, that you would serve. Put mind to rest. And if the entity pulls away, begin again visualizing, seeing, till self once becomes at-one-ment with this, with the stone, with always the thought uppermost in the mind that it is but a symbol picture of the Christ Force, of the creative force of God and that self is as a member of the Father’s house, the Father’s body through that force, the Christ. And when the entity finally becomes as in this, then let the entity know to clear the mind and even put this symbol aside finding peace, peace of self, peace of the body, peace, holding to self, peace and quietness until all is stilled and the Christ Force is awakened within self. We find for this entity that which is as the stumbling block is the overactive mind, so trained to be for so long of a time. But it can be stilled. It can be overcome, if the entity believes it can.
Q Do you have any more specific suggestions for putting self in balance? (101)
S We find for this entity especially, although good for the group, to visualize in the mind, as self, that a fulcrum exists. Visualize in the mind until it becomes a fact. Upon the fulcrum a golden bar – the fulcrum being gold also. That on each end and in the middle of the bar is as a weight, each weight being a pearl. And then mentally, in the mind that is, adjust the pearls till there is balance, as you see the symbol in the mind. For in balancing the symbol in the mind comes the adjustment within those forces, those three pearls of beauty: the will, the mind, and the spirit. As for the entity as an individual, we find that through deep breathing for this entity and the more intake of water, and we would see in this entity maybe there should be of the variety as distilled waters rather than the mineral waters, the distilled, for we find in the entity an attraction here to keep within self the salt content of the foods taken in, that mineral waters holds into self. There, distilled waters are best for this entity but more of the intake of distilled water, more of that which is deep breathing, and we would suggest even for this entity yoga to attune the body the more. And also for this entity the massage to the feet as a very important part of the daily routine.
Q I have a question concerning meditation. We asked about certain positions for prayer. It has been said by some that legs should be crossed for meditation in order to keep out outside forces. I’ve also heard that legs should not be crossed in order for energy to flow. Could you clarify what would be best for members of this group or for individuals?
S For Western man because of the physical nature of Western man, feet on the floor.
Assume the seated position, back straight. This is the best position. Mostly for that which is the bone structure of the Western man is not that of the Oriental who teaches, who preaches, the different positions especially the lotus position, et cetera. As to that which keeps out the forces of negativeness or even as termed evil, no position. It is the position of the mind, not the body. It is the position of the spiritual nature of the entity not that which is the hanging of the hands, the position of the torso, or the limbs.
Q I have one more. I wonder if you could give a little bit more about the spiritual laws. Louise Eggleston mentions so frequently in her writings and that have to be met. I don’t think she is talking about our bodies.
S This is more of the mental nature of each individual and this should be covered as to that bwhich are individual questions, as to that which are the lessons coming. Yes.
Q May I say something? “Father God we give Thee thanks for the wonders that are possible, for the truth, the obvious truth that we have heard, for the opportunity that has been given us. And help us all to go about our lives joyous, overwhelmed with the joy of having been chosen, having been given the opportunity to participate in this group. For what we receive we give Thee thanks.”
S My children, I give you My blessing, My love and know this: each and every one that is present is near and dear to Me. We are through with this reading at this time.
