Acts 5: Faith, Miracles, and Divine Justice

Faith, Miracles and Divine JusticeThis document is an in-depth analysis of Acts 5, focusing on its spiritual and metaphysical interpretations. It explores themes such as faith, divine intervention, and the consequences of deceit, particularly in the context of the early Christian church. The material delves into the deeper meanings and spiritual lessons derived from these biblical passages.

ACTS 5:1-2:

But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession, And kept back part of the price, his wife also being privy to it, and brought a certain part, and laid it, at the apostles’ feet.

S Enter into that which is the perfect world aworking, lying and deceit, as these two individuals stand for.  For all humans, bar none (even He that became Jesus the Christ), have within them, in their search through their many lives, the opportunity to overcome only to be deviated by these two figures that lie within you, lie within them.  For you see lying and deceit are the last recourse of the ego or the intellectual mind when it is faced with the overcoming of itself, or the giving of itself, or taking second place of itself by that which is the spiritual nature or the soul force coming forth to be present, or the overpowering or commanding part of the life.  Lying and deceit are bedded deeply in the subconscious of the individuals, for it is part of this world.  It is that which the intellect uses so often one way or another, even pretending that there are such things as little white lies, little untruths that will not hurt, not deviate from the path.  Deception of self is the cruelest of deceptions.  Therefore, to deceive yourself is to lead yourself in a worse disorder than the lying would to that which is self-destruction.  It clings to self throughout the eons of time as ball and chain do to a prisoner in a jail.

Q When you said that Jesus came in unspotted, would that be His first life or His last life?

S All have come in unspotted in their first lives, but none have gone from this life unspotted – only He, Jesus the Christ put aside that which we have given, even that which is the lie or the deceit.

ACTS 5:3-5:

But Peter said, “Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land?  Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God.” And Ananias hearing these words fell down, and gave up the ghost: and great fear came on all them that heard these things.

S Once again fear is not the correct interpretation, but awe, or in fact, rather, even a joy.  For the understanding was clear here even in their state.  In truth you cannot lie to God.  God knows not lies.  Faith is that which facing the lie defeats the lie: the lie cannot live where faith is.  For faith is truth and truth as given, will set you free.

Q Then giving up the ghost didn’t mean that the person died?

S Well, the person in this case did die for the very shock of the reasoning.  However, within you there is a bit of death of that which is the commonplace or the common ground or that which is the negativity of this plane.  For what is a life but to be that given up for spiritual advancement?  In this case, for that one that gave up the bodily functions of this plane, there was much gain.  For the truth – indeed had set the entity free.

ACTS 5:6-10:

And the young men arose, wound him up, and carried him out, and buried him. And it was about the space of three hours after, when his wife, not knowing what was done, came in. And Peter answered unto her, “Tell me whether ye sold the land for so much?” And she said, “Yea, for so much.” Then Peter said unto her, “How is it that ye have agreed together to tempt the Spirit of the Lord? behold, the feet of them which have buried thy husband are at the door, and shall carry thee out.” Then fell she down straightway at his feet, and yielded up the ghost: and the young men came in, and found her dead, and, carrying her forth, buried her by her husband.

S Deceit goes the way of lies when confronted by truth, by faith, and then the new being, the new ways come forth and bury that which is the past or that which is deceit and even lies, opening up the new world or the new pathway, for at that time within yourselves you have overcome.  Regardless of what other lives you must face in your progress, this is never lost but always that which you have then earned and put on the shelf to be used to make you whole at the time you have fulfilled all there is to learn within this plane.

ACTS 5:11-14

And great fear came upon all the church, and upon as many as heard these things. And by the hands of the apostles were many signs and wonders wrought among the people; (and they were all with one accord in Solomon’s porch.  And of the rest durst no man join himself to them: but the people magnified them. And believers were the more added to the Lord, multitudes both of men and women.)

S The path of God is truly the path or the porch of wisdom and those things that are done in the name of the Lord, not for self-glory but allowing the Lord’s force to work through self, is then that which glorifies, which makes known to others the truth, the truth of the spiritual being, the truth of this world and that which lies beyond.  There are those who exalt others not realizing that within themselves there is that God just as here was, and is, in those that are the saints, those which are the masters, those which are the leaders that you would follow in the spiritual search.  Remember, if you by your actions raise one of your brothers, your sisters up, you are as great as any master.  For this is what Jesus the Christ gave you to do.  This is the sacrifice of self for others.  By placing the redemption of others first through your patience, your love, your own mercy, yes, your charity, you ensure the salvation, the rescue of your own soul.  It is through work, through faith, through that hope (as given earlier in this reading) that brotherly love, that gentleness, that refusal to fall into the trap  that deviates, even so slightly, the error of lying and deception, especially to yourself, whence you may become the master of your own faith through the blueprint of the Master of Life Himself, Jesus the Christ.

ACTS 5:15-16:

Insomuch that they brought forth the sick into the streets, and laid them on beds and couches, that at the least the shadow of Peter passing by might overshadow some of them. There came also a multitude out of the cities round about unto Jerusalem, bringing sick folks, and them which were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed every one.

S Your faith, your true belief, is as demonstrated here as the shadow that falls upon your past, your past nonaccomplishments and your past accomplishments.  All parts of yourself are dredged forward that faith may make you whole, that faith may give you the staunchness to face the truth that the ego and the ego-world is only the learning, that the personality you have come to worship as you (and you worship it) is naught, that you have a greater being far beyond your understanding.  Even as the insect is to you as a mental thing, so you are to the greater you.  In short, it is the opening up to the spiritual awareness that you are, in truth, a creation of God and are of God and in God.  You cannot realize the implication of this until you have achieved to that level.  But know this: you will (and some of you have glimpsed this and know what we speak of at this time).  If it were correct for you to pull from yourself now those experiences, it would be done.  Some of you feel the inkling of what we speak of at this time.

ACTS 5:17-20:

Then the high priest rose up, and all they that were with him, (which is the sect of the Sadducees,) and were filled with indignation,  And laid their hands on the apostles, and put them in the common prison. But the angel of the Lord by night opened the prison doors, and brought them forth, and said,  “Go, stand and speak in the temple to the people all the words of this life.”

S  God in his infinite mercy does give strength, does give help, in all matter and form to those who would fight the fight within themselves that they may put aside their high priests, may put aside those influences of the mind, of the body, so designated as part of the ego-world, that those parts of self which are of the mind and the intellect may become part of the spiritual or so directed by the spiritual.  There is always that battle.  It is even the battle of the end of the world for self, for then the world has not the meaning it had before but takes on a new dimension, a new meaning, that is that which is a step, a great and wondrous step, into that which is the realm of the spirit.

ACTS 5:21-24:

And when they heard that, they entered into the temple early in the morning, and taught. But the high priest came, and they that were with him, and called the council together, and all the senate of the children of Israel, and sent to the prison to have them brought. But when the officers came, and found them not in the prison, they returned, and told, Saying, “The prison truly found we shut with all safety, and the keepers standing without before the doors: but when we had opened, we found no man within.” Now when the high priest and the captain of the temple and the chief priests heard these things, they doubted of them whereunto this would grow.

S You may be removed from that which is the trial and tribulation of the mental inquisition by that which is faith and love, by the direct touch of the angelic host, by the raising within self of the Christ force, by that which is the Holy Spirit touching yourself.  It is unbelievable to those without; it is unbelievable to those who have no faith; it is unbelievable to those who cannot conceive of life beyond this plane as a greater and more wonderful thing, or even as life beyond this plane.  Therefore, the walls, the locks, the guards are naught but that which are placed before you by the restrictions of your own making, by your own being, by your imaging.  It is God that counts.  It is the Holy Spirit that counts.  It is the Christ that counts.  And you may count, too, when you find this within yourself.

ACTS 5:25-28:

Then came one and told them, saying, “Behold, the men whom ye put in prison are standing in the temple, and teaching the people.” Then went the captain with the officers, and brought them without violence: for they feared the people, lest they should have been stoned. And when they had brought them, they set them before the council: and the high priest asked them, Saying, “Did not we straitly command you that ye should not teach in this name? and, behold, ye have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this man’s blood upon us.”

S In this case Jerusalem is yourselves.  You have come before yourself, weighing and judging.  You have started the upheaval within yourself, even as feared here by those in authority at this time, still being the mental institution of the intellect and the mind force.  But before them who have preached in the temple, that is the holiness of yourself, is that which is the experience, is that which are faith and hope.

ACTS 5:29-32:

Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, “We ought to obey God rather than men. The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom ye slew and hanged on a tree. Him hath God exalted with his right hand to be a Prince and a Saviour, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins. And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him.”

S This is merely stating to you, as it did to those at that time, that God has given the opportunity, God has given the opportunity to overcome even those dastardly deeds that you have done, have committed in the name of religion, in the name of soul force, in the name of helping others.  For through the force, the power and love that God has given you, you may overcome this world.  But remember how it is done, even as we gave in the introduction to this reading.

ACTS 5:33-39:

When they heard that, they were cut to the heart, and took counsel to slay them. Then stood there up one in the council, a Pharisee, named Gamaliel, a doctor of the law, had in reputation among all the people, and commanded to put the apostles forth a little space; And said unto them, “Ye men of Israel, take heed to yourselves what ye intend to do as touching these men. For before these days rose up Theudas, boasting himself to be somebody; to whom a number of men, about four hundred, joined themselves: who was slain; and all, as many as obeyed him, were scattered, and brought to nought. After this man rose up Judas of Galilee in the days of the taxing, and drew away much people after him: he also perished; and all, [even] as many as obeyed him, were dispersed. And now I say unto you, Refrain from these men, and let them alone: for if this counsel or this work be of men, it will come to nought: But if it be of God, ye cannot overthrow it; lest haply ye be found even to fight against God.”

S This is the use of wisdom in the intellectual man.  For even those that are not of the spiritual nature, have the intellect, have the wisdom to not turn away, to evaluate, to try to understand, so that if there is knowledge, if there is that path to be found, they may have same.  It is that voice that so often people call conscience that speaks here.

ACTS 5:40-42

And to him they agreed: and when they had called the apostles, and beaten them, they commanded that they should not speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go. And they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for his name. And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ.

S These are the actions that come from within once you have given yourself to the path, once you have used your wisdom, once you have used your knowledge.  For remember, knowledge unused is sin.  Therefore, even as these went forth to proclaim through their actions, through their deeds, the belief in Jesus the Christ and the one God, so must you.  As given over and over, it is the action of self in the trying that will save you, that will bring you forth, that will save your brother, your sister, through your own efforts.

And now we give that which is the love, the blessing, the peace, the comfort, of Jesus the Christ and the Father Almighty and of the Holy Spirit.  May these blessings magnify themselves within your lives that others may see your good works and know that God is God and that love is the end and means to all things.  We are through with this reading at this time.
