This document is a comprehensive analysis of John Chapter 6 from the Bible, focusing on miracles of faith. It covers significant events such as the feeding of the five thousand and Jesus walking on water. The material explores themes like divine provision, faith, and the deeper spiritual significance of Jesus’ miracles and teachings.
John 6:1-7
After these things Jesus went over the sea of Galilee, which is the sea of Tiberias. And a great multitude followed him, because they saw his miracles which he did on them that were diseased. And Jesus went up into a mountain, and there he sat with his disciples. And the Passover, a feast of the Jews, was nigh. When Jesus then lifted up his eyes, and saw a great company come unto him, he saith unto Philip, “Whence shall we buy bread, that these may eat?” And this he said to prove him: for he himself knew what he would do. Philip answered him, “Two hundred pennyworth of bread is not sufficient for them, that every one of them may take a little.”
S The port is that which receives. The mountain is that which is the spiritual place of meeting with God. And Jesus is that which occurs within you. For Jesus will throw out those questions as man and his understanding of man provides. And it is therefore up to you to answer. And all things that happened within your life may be seen as that which is the spiritual answering that you may be led through the Christ, through the Way, the Truth, and the Light, to that which is the understanding within yourself, through yourself, by the love and mercy of God, which is the Christ. And then extend yourself and be that which is the glorification of God, even as Jesus became the glorification, was the glorification, and is the glorification of God.
John 6:8-14
One of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, saith unto him. There is a lad here, which hath five barley loaves, and two small fishes: but what are they among so many? And Jesus said, “Make the men sit down.” Now there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down, in number about five thousand. And Jesus took the loaves; and when he had given thanks, he distributed to the disciples, and the disciples to them that were set down; and likewise of the fishes as much as they would. When they were filled, he said unto his disciples, “Gather up the fragments that remain, that nothing be lost.” Therefore, they gathered them together, and filled twelve baskets with the fragments of the five barley loaves, which remained over and above unto them that had eaten. Then those men, when they had seen the miracle that Jesus did, said, “This is of a truth that prophet that should come into the world.”
S The boy represents the undeveloped nature of yourselves within your bodies. The loaves and the fish represent (as you can see) that which is the total of the seven centers – the two highest being the spiritual, or represented here as the fish, centers. In that which is the so-called miracle (which is the reality of not a miracle but rather the Law in action, the Love in action, which is not a rarity as miracle would allude it to) is that which is the awakening, not only in this great body of people (for the women and children were there in greater numbers than the men) but it is a thousand times over for each of that which are the senses; and meaning that the senses are opened and the greater senses’ understanding, then, leads to that which is a further development within the entire body, or being of the individual or individuals, who have received that which is the miracle, or that which is the Law in action. The Law in action is that which brings forth the Christ force within yourselves, feeds that which is the soul of self, and lifts up the spiritual nature of yourself to do homage to that which is the Lord thy God which is, and ever has been, the Creative Force as the prime force, as the Son, as the Holy Spirit.
Q The sign Pisces has a symbol of two fishes swimming in opposite directions. Does this have any bearing on the two higher centers described here?
S In the Piscean or those who are influenced or born under his sign, it is most important that the spiritual feeding (regardless if it is on the level as we give, or on that which is the material-mental lever) is an important or the important reason the individual must develop the personality, or that which is a destiny within a life. True, there are many other factors that color a life, but it is the underlying and principal force within a life stream for those with the influence of Pisces.
John 6:15-21 When Jesus therefore perceived that they would come and take him by force, to make him a king, he departed again into a mountain himself alone. And when even was now come, his disciples went down unto the sea, and entered into a ship, and went over the sea toward Capernaum. And it was now dark, and Jesus was not come to them. And the sea arose by reason of a great wind that blew. So when they had rowed about five and twenty or thirty furlongs, they see Jesus walking on the sea, and drawing nigh unto the ship: and they were afraid. But he saith unto them, It is I; be not afraid. Then they willingly received him into the ship: and immediately the ship was at the land whither they went.
S If you would receive that which is the Christ, or God, realize that you have no fear in anything or of anything. And if you do, or must retain fear, let it be of that which you have not used fully, or the spiritual nature, rather than those mental or physical things that occur or incur within your life. And how often have people misjudged. There is such a misunderstanding. Jesus would have received the title of king, and gladly with open arms, with open heart, had the title of king been bestowed upon His spiritual nature rather than on the individual man, or the individual personality as shown through Jesus as an individual of the human side, or had it not been for the idea that it was an individual of special features, of individual looks and actions. For you see, how often does mankind, because they cannot see and hear correctly, worship that which is as the human. Jesus as the man could not allow himself to be worshiped. For he knew this was sin in itself, worse than a graven image. For he was totally aware of His being, His presence, His abilities, His authority and then that of the individuality, personality, and authority of God which acted through Him to do those things that men would attribute to the human nature or human side of Jesus.
Q When reading verses 19, 20, and 21 of Lamsa’s version and also his footnote, it seemed wrong, so I read the same verses in the King James. The difference comes at the beginning of verse 21 of King James, “then they willingly received Him into the ship.” Would you comment on this?
S This is a misunderstanding of verbiage. However, the thought essences are somewhat the same. They wished Jesus to come into their beings, for the temple (or the ship) was that of the individual life or body and Jesus willingly would do so if it were correct. Jesus, however, as He did that which you might call a stroll upon the water, did not come into the ship. For there was that which the negative factors of the fear and disbelief. This is why He, using those forces within Himself, for the proper usage of same, lightened Himself, rearranged the forces of gravitation and proceeded about that which is the walk. The landing in the place as demonstrated here, is finding the concrete nature of that which is to be understood, or in reality, worshiped. For Jesus did not come into that boat, that ship, for the very same reason He did not accept kingship at the hands of man. For though these were His close associates, those that were schooled by Him, they still could not differentiate between God action and man actions and saw it as Jesus the man rather than Jesus the Christ – God in action.
Q It still was Jesus, the man, walking on the water though, wasn’t it?
S That is correct.
Q Lamsa seems to think otherwise according to the footnote.
S Lamsa’s interpretations are often, as even group interpretations would be, prejudiced from a certain standpoint of training and background. That is not to say it is incorrect or wrong for the individual. It is the thought of the action that is correct. Many times there is incorrectness in the written word. In fact, there is so much deleted, depleted, watered down, misunderstood that the real tale of Jesus, that became Christed (of God action within mankind) will not be known to the individuals, even in the smallest fraction, until they have risen past that which is human understanding.
Q Why did Jesus have to identify Himself to these men?
S First of all, they were out in the water; they were in that which is not of their own element, though some of them were fishermen. They were at a time when the light defies imagination that there was fear within them when they saw something they knew could not be. For they looked at what they saw, not in the religious sense, not in the spiritual sense, not in the enlightened sense, but as the rational, well you could say, scientific bent man, who sees cause and action and relates the same throughout their lives. They saw defiance to the laws of the world as they knew them to be and could not really associate in this half-light that of Jesus the Christ. And remember, too, they were from a superstitious land, though the Jews of today would not want you to believe this or the Christians of today. They believed in all kinds of hauntings (and some were true, of course) apparitions, (and some were true, of course) and all sorts of evil things such as devils taking on the forms of humans – even those that would be close to them, related to them, or well known to them. So there was much fear within the individuals and the group. And the group thought was greater than the individual’s in the end.
John 6:22-27
The day following, when the people which stood on the other side of the sea saw that there was none other boat there, save that one whereinto his disciples were entered, and that Jesus went not with his disciples into the boat, but that his disciples were gone away alone; (Howbeit there came other boats from Tiberias nigh unto the place where they did eat bread, after that the Lord had given thanks:) When the people therefore saw that Jesus was not there, neither his disciples, they also took shipping, and came to Capernaum, seeking for Jesus. And when they found him on the other side of the sea, they said unto him, “Rabbi, when camest thou hither?” Jesus answered them and said,”Verily, verily, I say unto you, Ye seek me, not because ye saw the miracles, but because ye did eat of the loaves, and were filled. Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for the meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed.”
S How often in the individuals’ or the group lives of those who say and confess and profess that they believe in God, in Jesus the Christ, in the Way, the Truth, and the Life, comes that time that there is a decision to be based on the material needs or necessities. And which is that which they follow the most? How inbred within the thinking patterns of the human animal is that which regards God’s love, God’s rewards with the physical, material rewards in life. It is true that some are rewarded in this manner. It is true that God wants no one to suffer or have not. And yet, in the choosing of your individual ways through that which is the choice of dharma and karma, those things must come to you, unless, in truth, you find that which is the Word and truly become part of the Word. And this is the absolution that Jesus suffered for, in the name of crucifixion, for your remittance of sins. It does not mean you have not earned. For, in finding the Word, you earn. In realizing those things that come to you, you are on the path as given by Him. And great is the joy in heaven when one individual (oh, so few have) discovers the truth, claims that which is the Way, or the Key, as forged by Jesus in the overcoming of the mankind, or that which is the intellectual ego and personality as developed through all these times. If the individuals here could find that grace would be in their hands (even as any individual could find this), then the door is opened and you are on your way. But then there is that selection: should you go, or should you stay? You may do either. But if you then live and love through that which is Jesus the Christ pattern, you choose to stay to help and be as an extension of the Master of Life, and lift up those who need that extra help, that extra push, that extra love.
Q Could you please discuss the relative merits of works versus faith and how these relate to grace?
S Works are dedicated by faith. The faith of a person moves them to do those things which will not impede but help others–which are not offshoots of the egos of selves, but of love and the will of becoming that which is dependent upon the spiritual rather than on the mental or the physical. Those who sin or go astray are those who do the opposite. For the ego is the downfall and then the judgment of self is that which condemns an entity when judgment must be given and cannot be escaped.
S Grace is that which is the true judgment that puts aside the sins. Grace is that which has broken the karmic wheel and allowed that which is the escape from the physical-mental world, into that which is the spiritual-mental world, into that which is the spiritual realm.
Q Well then, does grace depend on either works or faith?
S Grace depends upon that which is the love of God, for it is the love of God. It is that which manifested itself in the life of Jesus the Christ, which gave you the opportunity then, to leave the wheel. Grace is that which does not judge, condemn, coach, or guide. It does not forgive. It does not make excuses for. It does not release. It does not take away. It is merely that which is God in action, giving you then, God. There is no such thing as a law that says you must act in faith, must repent. For God is that which in grace picks those that God knows deserves. If it sounds heretical to say these things it is only because you cannot understand your past and your present. For some have already received grace that are taking tours of duty in this plane which do not act in faith, are not those who manifest so much, God–but are fulfilling that which they have volunteered to do. Therefore, grace is God’s choosing. [10-106]
Q If grace is God’s love and God’s love is unconditional, how does the concept given above, of “grace being God’s choosing”, fit in?
S Through the concept that God is perfect and does not operate through the human concepts or mind. Man, or mankind (which includes women) program themselves to have understandings and see that which is a variant in that which is the concept of grace and God’s choosing. For mankind then seems to want to put laws to God, rather than God putting laws to mankind. They are in accordance. It might stir a few minds to try and delve into that depth of same and try to come up with an understanding–but believe, it is true. And because of grace there is a choosing. [10-108]
John 6:28-31
Then said they unto him, “What shall we do, that we might work the works of God?” Jesus answered and said unto them, “This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.” They said therefore unto him, “What sign shewest thou then, that we may see, and believe thee? what dost thou work? Our fathers did eat manna in the desert; as it is written, He gave them bread from heaven to eat.”
S Man equates, you see, always (even though in the presence of the spiritual) by what man has been trained to believe and to weigh. Western civilization believes in those things that are based in the monetary system, maybe more than others. Whereas so many of the Eastern are based in how you are fed and who feeds whom. And yet, underlying, it’s the same. If that which is the monetary and the physical feeding could be put aside, and realize the rewards are there but on the spiritual plane, rather than those things that can be tasted, or counted, or held onto, or passed around. In truth, the spiritual may be passed around but not in the same sense.
John 6:32-38
Then Jesus said unto them, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven. For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world.” Then said they unto him, “Lord, evermore give us this bread.” And Jesus said unto them, “I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst. But I said unto you, that ye also have seen me, and believeth not. All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out. For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.”
S Thus Jesus presented Himself as the pattern (so often disbelieved, or misunderstood), as that which is to feed others. There was among the Jews the horror of that which is cannibalism, and then many took this offer of Jesus of Nazareth to mean actual eating of flesh, and this was passed on not only among the Jews but the Romans and others, much to the detriment of those who became Christians in the following times. And Jesus, then, was the Light, is the Light, and that which was given by God, and here proclaims, even though He had the ability to change their minds and ways. But by concentrating that which was developed within Him, yet understood and grew the more, even at His stage, by allowing only that which was the will of God to prevail.

And now we give that which is love, blessings and peace. May you continue in that which is the study of the Light, the seeking of the Light, that you may receive that which is the Life, the true Life, through Him Who is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.

Beloved Father, we thank You for the opportunity of coming before You to seek Your knowledge, Your love, Your direction. Father, through Jesus the Christ, our Elder Brother, our Pattern, help us now to assume the roles that we are to play and to be in Your plan for mankind. We thank you for Your love and Your presence.

Listen to the song; listen to the message and hear life. Tune to that which lies within. Feel life. Feel love. Open your consciousness to that which the Light that you may know yourself. For the law is in you and you are of the law. And that law is love. Love is God and God is Love. This is the law, this is the promise and this is the truth. Therefore, know yourselves! Tune in to that which is your being! And we would give you this instruction, this understanding: the One Who became, and is, Jesus the Christ, the One that is responsible for the creation of this planet and your minds, so constructed, that you may enjoy and understand this place of learning directly from God and of God and in God, has assumed that role of giving you the opportunity to overcome, and has given you that love directly from the Father, the Creator, that you may escape that which is karma, through grace. And grace is that fact that you have been given, an opportunity for each indiscretion, (or that which you would consider karma) the escape. For each transgression there is a door. Through His crucifixion as the human you have gained that ally, that partner. This is the assumption of the sins of the world. What you do with the opportunity is your destiny. And in the creation of the mind of man, both the infinite and the finite mind (and there is a difference) Jesus the Christ has given you the opportunity of learning through that which is the finite mind that you might, then, find the infinite mind. And realizing that which are the limitations of the finite mind, Jesus has given Himself as the image of God, and in truth is the operational God in this plane. And in conjunction with that of the Holy Spirit, God in action, God redeeming to be that which is the focal pint for the understanding and use of this mind power, this creation, this creativity. Therefore, approach the heaven of the Father and the throne of God through that which is the man Christed, Jesus, that you may overcome that plane which you are in (the learning plane) through His blood, His assumption of the yoke, and the assuming of that which are the hazards, the pitfalls, the stumbling blocks of this world.
John 6:39-45
And this is the Father’s will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day. And this is the will of him that sent me, that everyone which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day. The Jews then murmured at him, because he said, “I am the bread which came down from heaven.” And they said, “Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? How is it then that he saith, I came down from heaven?” Jesus therefore answered and said unto them, “Murmur not among yourselves. No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day. It is written in the prophets, and they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me.”
S It is also written as in days of old, “He who has seen Me has seen the Father.” And the understanding here is that Jesus the Christ, understanding and responsible for the creation of the mind (as used by mankind), then must become the symbol for the mind, or the finite mind of man, to focus upon (in) that which is the search or the reverence of God. Also, Jesus was revealing here that even as He is of God and the messenger of God, and the truth and the love of God in action, so within yourselves you have that same truth, that same messenger, that same love. For you are as those Jews of that day which would murmur against yourselves, “Are you not the son or daughter of? Are you not the worker that does this? How can you be that which is God among mankind?” And yet, you are. And in that time that you realize, even as He, Jesus, realized, and gave to those the understanding that works that come through you are the same as the works that come through Him, even now are the works of God. For you, too, may become the action that transmits, then, the force, the love, the power, the creativity, the mercy of God.
John 6:46-56
“Not that any man hath seen the Father, save he which is of God, he hath seen the Father. Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life. I am the bread of life. Your fathers did eat manna in the wilderness and are dead. This is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die. I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live forever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.” The Jews therefore strove among themselves, saying, “How can this man give us his flesh to eat?” Then Jesus said unto them, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you. Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day. For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed. He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him.”
S When you meet with God in that holy of holies within yourself, you are fed that which is the Christ. And it pours into your systems, into that which is your soul, your spiritual force, renewing, rejuvenating, giving life. And it pours into your body. If you knew but how to use it, you could rebuild and be anew, if that were done for truly the use of others. And yet, life is not lost one whit. For remember: this body that you inhabit at this time is the body in essence that you have had from the beginning of time as you came into this plane. It is your creation. You builded it, you have lived in it. You remodel it for use in each and every penetration into this which is the spiritual-mental- physical realm. You take it with you, you reuse it, and someday it will become your universe, your cosmos to create, to govern, to manage. And at that time when you understand these things: first, that through meditation, prayer, and works, you begin to recognize Jesus the Christ at work through you. And then as that grows within you, your mind becomes developed in the finite to the infinite. Then you become that which begins to see the immenseness, the truth of God, using Jesus the Christ in vision and in fact as the true doorway which you must pass (wave-by-wave, impression-by-impression – yes, physically, mentally, and spiritually) into that which is the presence or the awareness of God and the awesomeness and joy of the reality of God. When you speak of that which is the face of God, it is normal and natural for the impulses to be of that which your mind relates to – (a) physical features of that which is of mankind. And through that you must project and learn as you grow to recognize past that to the true, immense, all-powerful, all-pervading force face that is God. This in itself, then, is reaching heaven. And yet, you are encumbered by that which is being human, being of the mind created, as given to you by Jesus the Christ in that period when creation was in His hands. And yet, the door, the mercy is open to you, that from this finite mind to the infinite mind is but a step – and yet such a great step. And you are all toddlers.
John 6:57-64
“As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me. This is that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna and are dead: he that eateth of this bread shall live forever.” These things said he in the synagogue, as he taught in Capernaum. Many therefore of his disciples, when they had heard this, said, “This is an hard saying; who can hear it?” When Jesus knew in himself that his disciples murmured at it, he said unto them, “Doth this offend you? What and if ye shall see the Son of man ascend up where he was before? It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life, but there are some of you that believe not.” For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were that believed not, and who should betray him.
S Your body has that function at this time of being the place, or the temple, or the home of that which is God in residence, the Christ force. It is given for you not to worship your body but make your body a place of worship. There is a great difference. Treat your body as a holy thing, a place that is given to you that you welcome the Lord Creator God. So often individuals start, maybe with this in mind, and end up making their body the focal point of their ego, their personality, and that which they use to identify themselves with. This is a natural end product of so many lifetimes encased within the body. The body is that thing which is your convenience and conveyance in this existence. Make it as comfortable, as healthy, and as useful as possible. See it as an opportunity of overcoming and of readying for that which someday it will be – your universe. Do not worship it. Do not let it control you, for the appetites, the desires of the body are those things which are the undoing of so many. Treat the body as it should be treated as that which must be the servant of the spiritual inclinations and the home that is necessary in this plane for your spiritual soul residence, a platform, if you may, for the mental man, the mental-spiritual man, the mental-spiritual-physical being.
John 6:65-71
And he said, “Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father.” From that time many of his disciples went back and walked no more with him. Then said Jesus unto the twelve, “Will ye also go away?” Then Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life. And we believe and are sure that thou art that Christ, the Son of the living God.” Jesus answered them, “Have not I chosen you twelve, and one of you is a devil?” He spake of Judas Iscariot the son of Simon: for he it was that should betray him, being one of the twelve.
S All of you have that which are the seeds of destruction within yourselves, else you would not have that which is choice, and here, again is the choice. Will you, in clear mind, in clear consciousness, choose that which is self’s way, or God’s way? The evaluation, then, in the choosing is this: what would you do this day? He built a world, gave you a universe, constructed the mind that you may have a mind to use. He gave you an infinite and a finite possibility. He gave you a path and a way out. He was kind, gentle, loving, and patient. How do you fit into this? Can you assume His mantle, or will you choose that which is selfishness, the way of the ego, destruction, and death of the opportunity to live forever as a personality that can (in the spiritual sense) be proud of the learning process – more proud of that which is the chance, the opportunity, the love, as epitomized in He that was Jesus, is the Christ, the Door, the Way, and the Truth? Choose today what you would be.
