Beloved Father-Mother God, open up our hearts, our minds, our ways to knowledge, wisdom, and love, that we may be tools of your use in this world, and implant within us “Others, first, others first”, that it will have true meaning to us and to others.

Source

It is given, “Let your light so shine before you.” And what is your light but that of the spirit? How often do you hold this light to be true, or how often do you conceal the light? If you would be your brother’s keeper, then unmask the light that your ways, your actions, may show to the world that you care for your brother, your sister, by glorifying God through the thoughts and deeds that are useful and in need of in this plane.

S These are all of those influences that are near to or in this plane of existence and those thoughts and things that are of this plane, or cling to this plane, or are close to this plane – that is, the material plane that you operate in at this time. [10-105]

Luke 18:1-5

And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint; Saying, “There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither man: And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, ‘Avenge me of mine adversary.’ And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, ‘Though I fear not God, nor regard man; Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.’ ”

S Is this not the disease of the mind of this day? Is this not the way that is taught by man, to man, of man? For here you have that which is selfishness, or self. There is no thought of others, nor of the worship of God, nor the reality of man toward man, man toward God, or even, in truth, man toward man. It is self-styled and selfish. It is dependent upon that which is the judgment of the mind or the intellect gone astray. For the intellect that is not rooted in that which is God is rooted in that which is of the ego, or selfishness, rather than in selflessness. And yet, here, there is that which is the misrepresentation, as given in this form of the word. For there was not revenge sought. There was that which was justice sought. And justice is not revenge. Justice is that which sets aright the wrong course, which puts back on its feet that which is right. It is that which removes the stumbling block and, in itself, is the helping hand that puts mankind upon the path to righteousness. It is not punishment, but love. It is mercy rather than that which is the punishment or that which is the negative form, as mankind would see it to be.

Q Please define “avenge” and “revenge” as used above.

S Avenge is that which normally is a karmic thing. Avenge is that which is the law of God in action. Revenge is that which is done with malice or hate by mankind. This is the normal use of those terms. [10-105]

Luke 18:6-8

And the Lord said, “Hear what the unjust judge saith. ‘And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them?’ I tell you that he will avenge them speedily, nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?”

S God is a judge of that which He has created. You are the judge of what you have created. The elect or the select, as given here, that God will chastise first, and not the judge, you see, but those who have walked in the footsteps of the Light, and for the Light, the judgment will be then merciful and swift. For as you face that which you would know as karma, or that which is your mode of living, as given as a learning process, you cleanse yourself of that which you would judge as the negative qualities within your life, or past lives. This is mercy; this is justice as tempered by love. For if this were not true, then grace would not be your lot. For He who sacrificed the ego to open the door and break the wheel gave to you, then, the opportunity of that which is given here as revenge. And, in a sense, justice, here, and revenge are the same. For you revenge yourself upon your past activities. And the one that is represented as the judge, the negative, the godless personality, the ego-centered personality, is not punished. For that entity is coming to that which is the finding of justice, must return in that which is the rebirth system to earn the right to be judged, not as man judges man, nor as you judge yourself in the time of judgment, but as the spirit judges, for the spirit is of itself. And remember, you in your good works show the spirit that is within you, as given by God the Creative Force, which then justifies your existence and cleanses and opens a way for the growth of the soul, and the release of the soul into that which are the high abodes that the soul was meant to go to.

Q Please define “avenge” and “revenge” in relation to their use here.

S Avenge is that which normally is a karmic thing. Avenge is that which is the law of God in action. Revenge is that which is done with malice or hate by mankind. This is the normal use of those terms. [10-105]

Luke 18:9-14

And he spake this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others: “Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican. The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, ‘God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican. I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess.’ And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, ‘God be merciful to me a sinner.’ I tell you; this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.”

S Every individual is both Pharisee and publican and shows this in that which are the changing situations of the life, the thoughts, the actions. The parable, here, as the interpretation in Luke is that you understand the times when you are each. Forgive yourself for those actions which are out of line with that which is the spiritual development of self, that you learn to act the more (which is wisdom) in that which is better for your brothers, your sisters, putting aside that which is best for self. Quite often there is a clash, you see, between that which is the rationalizing and the reality. For even though the publican in his office, in his way of life, is a negative force that must be overcome in itself, the realization of the spiritual and the true way is dawning or has dawned. whereas the Pharisee, in self-righteousness, in that which is the ego-centered personality, is totally lost to that which is the Light, the Way, and the Truth. And yet, and yet, though you show this in your life, remember: He came to save those who are lost. Therefore, each and every individual, each entity, each soul force, has that which is hope, that which is the escape, that which is the truth.

Luke 18:15-17

And they brought unto him also infants, that he would touch them: but when his disciples saw it, they rebuked them. But Jesus called them unto him, and said, “Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God. Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child shall in no wise enter therein.”

S Conformity to that which are the accepted practices of mankind is rarely that which is based in the truth, or in that which is the holiness, or the divine word. Therefore, if you set aside, as children do, that which is the conformity of a civilization, or civilizations, and look to that which is the Word of God to guide, direct, and protect, then you are walking in that which is the way, that which is the path, as walked by those who have found the Light. In the acceptance of the place of the mind, the body, and the spirit, and the understanding of each, [it] is essential that you may then seek truly and correctly, that you may receive the changing truth, as the truth is changed for your ability to grasp truth and educate yourself as a child educates. For each day, each waking moment (yes, and the sleeping moments, too) a child is learning. Where in the counterpart, the adult has fixed impressions, fixed understanding, fixed habits, fixed patterns, and this is that which creates the neglect, or that which causes the hardening to the pituitary and the pineal body.

Q Does this also refer to faith?

S We have covered that previously. Yes, in its way, it covers that which is faith.

Luke 18:18-27

And a certain ruler asked him, saying, “Good Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?” And Jesus said unto him, “Why callest thou me good? none is good, save one, that is, God. Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Honour thy father and thy mother.” And he said, “All these have I kept from my youth up.” Now when Jesus heard these things, he said unto him, “Yet lackest thou one thing: sell all that thou hast, and distribute unto the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me.” And when he heard this, he was very sorrowful: for he was very rich. And when Jesus saw that he was very sorrowful, he said, “How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God! For it is easier for a camel to go through a needle’s eye, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.” And they that heard it said, “Who then can be saved?” And he said, “The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.”

S Only through God was there creation. Only through God can there be salvation. Only through God can mercy be. Those things as given as the commandments are of many fold. You have the stage where it is interpreted as that which is as the superficial: not to murder your fellow man by destroying the body. Then you have that underlying meaning for same, which means not to destroy the individuality, the thought process, of this mankind. And you have that which pertains to the spiritual subjugation which is in yourself. Kill not the spirit. And you may take all the commandments in the light of these three teachings. Mankind always sees things in the material sense, or the literal sense, as given so often. The riches, as spoken of here, are those things even such as health, intelligence, opportunity, and you sell those, too – not to the highest bidder, but to those in need. You are not a slave to your body, nor to your mind, nor even, yet, to God. And if you are not a slave to God, how then can you be a slave to desire, to foolishness? Therefore, when you have achieved to each level, seek, then, the new level of understanding and come to that time that you may go forth and give of the mind, the body, the spirit. For even as tithing is of these things, too, opportunity is of these, too. Too often financial gain, financial gifts, are the sum total of that which is called sacrifice by mankind. How often it is better and more just, more right, to view yourself as a receptacle of love, of power, of gifts, that may be poured forth to those who have not found the abundance, or have been put forward to you that you may share these, even though they have found their abundance of the spirit and are now giving you the opportunity to find the spiritual freedom and truth that you are here to learn of.

Luke 18:28-30

Then Peter said, “Lo, we have left all, and followed thee.” And he said unto them, “Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or parents, or brethren, or wife, or children, for the kingdom of God’s sake, Who shall not receive manifold more in this present time, and in the world to come life everlasting.”

S The promise. Faith gives the promise to the spirit, that it has cast aside the worldly things. And the spirit reveals that parents (which are the past) must be released; that the wife (which represents the present) must be released; that the child (which is the future) must be released. All relinquished. For there is no past, present, and future other than God. And when the realization that earthly ties should be of the spiritual nature rather than the mental-intellectual nature, which they are on this earth (for even the animals have that which is as a tie in the intellect of themselves towards each other), (and) the opportunity then is to go forth, love all, accept all – which does not mean that you will accept the actions of others, but learning that the promise is fulfilled to those who forget their personality, their ego. For when you have given away the past, the present, and the future, and have only God, you have no ego. You have a true personality, a fully developed personality, and know the joy and comfort of the Christ within released.

Q Is faith the tool that has to be applied to bring about the balance between the mind and the will?

S Without faith there is nothing done. Its brother is love. And without love you have nothing. Faith and love are those things that build mountains, tear down barriers, bring the will, the intellect, the mind, the physical body and the spiritual body into balance.

Q What should our policy be as far as material wealth in this world is concerned?

S Material wealth is there to comfort self and others. It is a test of will, a test of desire, a test of love, a test of temptation. You cannot cast aside your abilities to gain for the use of the positive. For you are required to live within that which is the legitimate world of wealth and counter-wealth as understood by people of this plane. And yet, it is both that which is the positive and negative influences. For if wealth owns you, you have succumbed to that which is the material. But if you own wealth, the spiritual nature of self will have succeeded. In this day, in this time, mankind is reverting again to becoming slaves of that which is the material world. For that which is the past fifty years there has been a growth, more or less, away from that which is the understanding of the all-powerful financial gain, and an awakening of that which was understood by mankind at one time of the use of that which is the positive from the material gains in this world. It has been given, often, “God has not created you to want”, but you have created want that you may gain or suffer. View it as that which is a positive thing that does not dominate you life, but that you dominate for the glory of God.

Luke 18:31-34

Then he took unto him the twelve, and said unto them, “Behold, we go up to Jerusalem, and all things that are written by the prophets concerning the Son of man shall be accomplished. For he shall be delivered unto the Gentiles, and shall be mocked, and spitefully entreated, and spitted on: And they shall scourge him, and put him to death; and the third day he shall rise again.” And they understood none of these things: and this saying was hid from them, neither knew they the things which were spoken.

S Even today the meaning is hid from that which are the peoples. For they would have it so. If you are to rise to your Jerusalem, which is that of the understanding spiritual center of yourself, you, too, must go through those things which are tortures of the mind and the body. And yet, only through the tortures of the mind and the body (for you have created them) is the way to find that which is release, understanding, the spiritual truth. For it is the destruction of the ego, that ego-centered self, as has been often said, that leads the way to the release of not only yourself, but your brothers, your sisters. And after all, remember, you owe and will understand that death. For He, the Prince of Love, did walk the path first, did break the boundaries set upon mankind, did hew the path for selves. The debt is great, and you must lift your brother, your sister, by giving them the opportunity to know and understand the forgiving of you for those things you have done towards them, to them, and in them.

Q Did the individual who compiled this, recorded it (and I understand it was Lucius of Laodicea), understand what was said?

S As much as possible. For you see, even with the enlightenment you receive at this time, you cannot understand fully. And even as you understand more than most, as you count time in one hundred years, you would see this as a first primary step to understanding. For remember, as we have given so often, truth changes day-by-day as your understanding grows. In a nutshell, Lucius did understand to a great degree, was enlightened at those times – not only trained for understanding but was enlightened that the work could be done through that entity.

Luke 18:35-43

And it came to pass, that as he was come nigh unto Jericho, a certain blind man sat by the wayside begging: And hearing the multitude pass by, he asked what it meant. And they told him, that Jesus of Nazareth passeth by. And he cried, saying, “Jesus, thou son of David, have mercy on me.” And they which went before rebuked him, that he should hold his peace: but he cried so much the more, “Thou son of David, have mercy on me.” And Jesus stood, and commanded him to be brought unto him: and when he was come near, he asked him, Saying, “What wilt thou that I shall do unto thee?” And he said, “Lord, that I may receive my sight.” And Jesus said unto him, “Receive thy sight: thy faith hath saved thee.” And immediately he received his sight, and followed him, glorifying God: and all the people, when they saw it, gave praise unto God.

S The voice within self, crying in the wilderness of self, “Jesus, save me” – tantamount to “Christ, save me.” In this fashion, the spirit rewards. For you, in your blindness, must realize the blindness, and that which overcomes the blindness, before you can have that touch of mercy. And yet, in God’s love there are those times that you have not earned. For whom really earns? But God touches, connives, cajoles, yes, gives the helping hand that you may get to that point where you cry out from the wilderness of self, “Jesus, save me.”
