This document offers a metaphysical and spiritual interpretation of the eighth chapter of the Gospel of Luke. It delves into Spiritual Awakening and the Power of Faith; deeper meanings and symbolism of the teachings and parables, focusing on themes like faith, spiritual awakening, and applying Christ’s teachings for personal growth and enlightenment.
Luke 8:1-4
And it came to pass afterward, that he went throughout every city and village, preaching and shewing the glad tidings of the kingdom of God: and the twelve were with him, And certain women, which had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities, Mary called Magdalene, out of whom went seven devils, and Joanna the wife of Chuza Herod’s steward, and Susanna, and many others, which ministered unto him of their substance. And when much people were gathered together, and were come to him out of every city, he spake by a parable:
S You have this, which is the representation of yourself. And once again, it is yourself each and every day. For you are a crowd. For you are a mixture. You are all that you have been before added into the sum total of one presence at this time. Though you may represent only the shade of self, or even an aspect of yourself, you are at the time in total, whether you can understand it or not. Therefore, you must meet the beings of yourself within yourself, even as Mary Magdalene represents a side of yourself, even as Susan represents a side of yourself, even as the many characters–oh how real–that you meet within that which are the Scriptures, are yourself. You must, though, realize – and truly realize–they exist within you. But as you look around the room, as you meet others each day, each hour, you are meeting their total selves, your total selves. For you are one. And until you realize that the faults, yes, the faults, and yet those treasures that you see of others and find in yourself, are still one. You cannot overcome that which holds you into the individual self, as you see individuality in this plane to be. You, in truth, are individual, an individual creation of God. Yet, you are part of God allowed to perfect yourself. Therefore, be as the careful cutter of gems. Use time only as an instrument. Do not make time a chain or a value that loses its perspective.
Q Were seven lives being referred to in the reference to “seven devils going out”?
S This was the cleansing of the seven centers rather than seven lives. For that entity might have 75 lives that would have been still in that entity causing that which you might call evil, or sinful, or devils. [10-105]
Luke 8:5
“A sower went out to sow his seed and as he sowed, some fell by the wayside; and it was trodden down, and the fowls of the air devoured it.”
S You walk upon this face, or the surface of the earth among your fellow men and women. You cast seed among them, the seed of God, the works. And yet, within yourselves also is sown the seeds. Therefore, as you speak and as you act, know you are sowing within and without. And the consequences of same may be a sweet harvest or a bitter harvest. You might find an abundance or a meagerness. It is always for the individual to design and to execute the same.
Luke 8:6
“And some fell upon a rock; and as soon as it was sprung up, it withered away, because it lacked moisture.”
S You may cast the word and the actions upon your fellow being and it may die; it may wither and go for naught. You may plant them within yourself, and yet, because that which is the center of centers is calcified and become rock hard, through selfishness, it, too, may die and wither away.
Luke 8:7
“And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprang up with it and choked it.”
S The actions of your fellow men, even as they seem to accept and then tear and render that which is the very word given to them, yet do not let it stab you. Do not let it tear you. Do not tear self but realize this is the time for patience and mercy, not only with others, but with yourself.
Luke 8:8
“And other fell on good ground, and sprang up, and bare fruit a hundredfold. And when he had said these things, he cried, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.”
S These are the actions that you would see that bear the good fruit. And yet, realize even those actions that you have done, those words that you have put out that seem to die, to fall away, to be destroyed, yes, to be torn and desecrated, yet in time and in place become that which bears the good fruit. Therefore, never give up, keep that which is the trying. For even when you regard your own actions as destructive, negative, what have you, there is in the end that which is perfection, goodness, and the reaching of the goal. For without the negative, as you see it, the positive could never be, or you could not understand the positive. Remember, in the end, nothing that is wrong has ever existed, because it cannot exist. This is God’s plan. This is His way. Realize the great abundance that is given to you. However, since you live in a plane that has a certain type of judgment with only a certain type and amount of intelligence, you must therefore seek to find that which appears to be best at the time and act in the measure of same.
Luke 8:9
And his disciples asked him, saying, “What might this parable be?”
S Always, always, there must be the seeking. For all things are given in parables. Even that which you see is the light, even that which you see as the rain or the wind, in itself, is a parable. Oh, you may see that which man interprets same to be. Man measures, man weighs, or man counts. But in the end, you must seek through God to find the real reason and that which is the riddle of the parables.
Luke 8:10
And he said, “Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God: but to others in parables; that seeing they might not see, and hearing they might not understand.”
S And it is given to you to see, and to hear, and to know, and under- stand, or have the opportunity of same at this time. What you will understand, and what you will hear is meant for the understanding in this plane. Remember, you must pass this plane before you may assume that which is the progress in the steps beyond (as you would see beyond to be) to being closer to that which is the presence, that which is the seeing, that which is the feeling, that which is the knowing of God. For though you would reign supreme, for though you would master this world, for though you would become spiritually free in this plane, for though you would think you would understand or know that which is God, you cannot until that time you have strengthened yourselves, released from yourselves that of the material, that of the plane, that of time itself. Until that time that God calls you forth, that you may know the entirety, you cannot know God. You may feel, you may see, and yet, to that degree you are still blind and still deaf. But for each individual the door is opened, the path is lit, the way is straight, the help is there, and God awaits.
Luke 8:11-12
“Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God. Those by the way side are they that hear; then cometh the devil, and taketh away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved.”
S What is the devil but self? It is the mind, the intellect, selfishness. It is worldliness. It is ignorance. It is stupidity. It is criticism and hate. In short, it is mankind.
Luke 8:13
“They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away.”
S Have you not heard your leaders, past and present, evoke God, point to that which is the truth, the wisdom, the love, and then fall away? Even at those times that they mean same, they become man again. For man is of this earth. And yet, you, as entities, are not of this earth. You are bound as man at this time. But the way, the opportunity, has come. For the Prince of Love, the Prince of Light, has walked amongst you. Receive Him again in the heart. Turn not away from the opportunity. The opportunity begins with the awakening in the morning and never ends. For your morning has come. See to it that the day is long and fruitful, lest you condemn and fall away through the same.
Luke 8:14
“And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection.”
S Oh, mankind, how long must the Word be with you? These are the actions you see around you and the actions you take yourselves when you keep not in the center of your being the central purpose of your being – the Christ. Would you be thorns? Would you tear and rend? For if you are the thorns, then you are the crown they put upon the Master on His way to the crucifixion. And know that the blood of the Lamb is upon you through your actions and your neglect. Think upon it. Think. Could you face yourself at this time if you knew you were the hand that thrust the thorns into the brow of the Master who came for you? Act as a loving child of God, as a brother to Him that came, that you may rather be a shining crown than a crown of thorns.
Luke 8:15
“But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.”
S The key word again, patience. Patience with others, patience with self, and patience as you begin to understand and know God. How often, how often, have you heard “Why has God done this to me?” “There is no God, for this would not have happened to me.” Patience, patience, with your understanding of God. Patience with yourself. For if you cannot be patient with yourself, you cannot be patient with anything.
Luke 8:16
“No man when he hath lighted a candle, covereth it with a vessel, or putteth it under a bed; but setteth it on a candlestick, that they which enter in may see the light.”
S You either act in the Christ, or you act without the Christ. You cannot tell yourself that within yourself you believe, and act otherwise. You cannot tolerate the Christ if you do not act and believe in the Christ. And likewise, you cannot tolerate that which are the negative actions of this world (as you understand the negative to be and must be for this plane) and have Christ. Therefore, you either live and act one way or the other. To do otherwise is to be the hypocrite. And by now, you know how He who loved, does love, is Love, and feels about the hypocrites.
Luke 8:17
“For nothing is secret, that shall not be made manifest; neither any thing hid, that shall not be known and come abroad.”
S What you think, you become. How you act is only that which has already been decided within yourself as a matter of selection of your being, either in that which is the entry of self, or that which are the daily walks of life. It is not otherwise. You have the ability to change, to make anew. Don’t waste it. Seize the opportunity. For you only make the next opportunity that much more difficult for yourself and for others.
Luke 8:18
“Take heed therefore how ye hear; for whosoever hath, to him shall be given; and whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he seemeth to have.”
S Things of this world are not what they seem to be. You must act always as if you have been given the greatest gift, and share the gift, and search for more to give to others, rather than rest upon your laurels, rather than feed the physical-mental self. Seek the opportunity to pour forth for others, that you may be those who have and those who hear – in short, those who are in tune.
Q Does this refer to understanding? That the more understanding you have, the more you will be able to get?
S If you live within the understanding and use the understanding. For to have understanding and not to use it is a great missing of the mark.
Luke 8:19-21
Then came to him his mother and his brethren, and could not come at him for the press. And it was told him by certain which said, “Thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to see thee.” And he answered and said unto them, “my mother and my brethren are those which hear the word of God, and do it.”
S And the same is for yourselves. For how often would you do for those close to you, those things that you would not do for the stranger? And yet, the stranger is as much, even as He the Master said here, as mother, as brother. For you must see all as mother and brother. For, in likelihood, they are, have been and, in the spiritual sense, always will be.
Luke 8:22-25
Now it came to pass on a certain day, that he went into a ship with his disciples: and he said unto them, let us go over unto the other side of the Lake. And they launched forth. But as they sailed he fell asleep: and there came down a storm of wind on the lake; and they were filled with water, and were in jeopardy. And they came to him, and awoke him, saying, “Master, master, we perish.” Then he arose and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water; and they ceased, and there was a calm. And he said unto them, “Where is your faith?” And they, being afraid wondered, saying one to another, “What manner of man is this! for he commandeth even the winds and water, and they do obey him.”
S When you have faith, you see God in the actions that occur to you, from you, and for you, throughout the day. Where you have faith, and the belief in the faith, then all things fall into place, all things become, not trial and tribulation or reward, but just, correct, and perfect. For even those of little faith must awaken and call upon that which is God, even as those who have had the opportunity to see the actions, to know the being, to know the presence, and realize the presence; yet, in the time of trial, turmoil, and tribulation, had to turn to Jesus the man for the spiritual being. For they had, in truth, little faith, and yet – and yet, they had seen and known so much. For even the calming of the wind, or even that which is the calming of the instincts or the fighting within yourself is but a small thing, was a small thing that they saw, but it was a personal thing meaning more than those things termed miracles they had seen so much. Then look into your life, look into your awareness, and when those little things come to you, realize that the greater works are in store.
Luke 8:26-28
And they arrived at the country of the Gadarenes, which is over against Galilee. And when he went forth to land, there met him out of the city a certain man, which had devils long time, and wear no clothes, neither abode in any house, but in the tombs. When he saw Jesus, he cried out, and fell down before him, and with a loud voice said, “What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God most high? I beseech thee, torment me not.”
S Many will see your actions, even though they be based in the Christ motive, or the God way, filled with light and love, as that which appalls them, unsettles them, yes, destroys them. Therefore, you must judge on how and when to act towards each individual. As you meet your own day, see this same happening within yourself – the cleansing of the seven centers where the devils of thought and action have cannibalized, or destroyed, or held back those centers. Therefore, through prayer, meditation, faith, and action, cleanse yourself. But be aware too, of how your actions unsettle others, and be prepared for the negative response to the positive. For there’s always some in your law of the physical world, the mental world.
Luke 8:29-31
(For he had commanded the unclean spirit to come out of the man. For oftentimes it had caught him: and he was kept bound with chains and in fetters; and he brake the bands, and was driven of the devil into the wilderness.) And Jesus asked him, saying, “What is thy name?” And he said, “Legion”: because many devils were entered into him. And they besought him that he would not command them to go out into the deep.
S In your daily pattern, the errors you make are legion. And yet, so often you know not what you do. And yet, the mercy of God does not call to justice all these things. Only as you proceed into that which is the understanding and grow the more are you called to be aware of, are you called for the judgment to those errors that previously have passed. There was a time when there was no such thing as a legion of errors, the legion of devils, the mis-thought, the misuse. For man had fallen as far as possible, and then had nowhere to go but up. You are on that climb that will take you from being mankind to spiritual-kind. Know that there are legions, not of devils, not of demons, but of angels. There are legions of goodwill. There are legions of good actions. There are legions of spiritual things: of songs, of music, of light, awaiting for your use. Then throw off the demonic, your corrosive, destructive ways, habits, and understandings, that you might find the path opened by Jesus of Nazareth to allow you that which is your created right, given by God at the time of creation of mankind, as you know mankind to be, or that, in truth, which is the spiritual man, or that which is the true nature, the soul force, the God Force, the Christ.
Luke 8:32-34
And there was there a herd of many swine feeding on the mountain: and they besought him that he would suffer them to enter into them. And he suffered them. Then went the devils out of the man and entered into the swine: and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the lake, and were choked. When they that fed them saw what was done, they fled, and went and told it in the city and in the country.
S Here you have the creating of the impossible, or the swine among that which are the Hebrew, or as scholars and theologians would see, created to absorb that which was the negative, into the negative, that they may be destroyed, or never to exist. For God, in His love and understanding of the ways and the being of this world, creates that which is its counter, or that which is the opportunity, or the selection, that leads you away, or cleanses you, or relieves you of that which are the drosses of this earth, this world, this materiality.
Q Was this a real happening?
S It was a real happening. Why doubt it?
Q What really caused the swine to jump into the lake?
S It was that which is the cleansing of an individual, even as the entity would know it to be: taking from that which are the human actions that which are the poisons and implanting them in that which is a lower order that could not be harmed by that which were the thoughts and selfishness – the actions of mankind, destroying themselves by the cleansing in the sea. And it is not impossible to have swine among the Hebrew, for they were for the Romans and others who lived off same. And yet, no swine died. For none were lost and all were replenished, transported away clean, returned to those who had taken them forth, but returned before they left (in a manner of speaking.) For those who saw them perish returned to find them anew and clean where they had gathered them that morning. Q What did the lake symbolize?
S The lake, the sea, is that which is as the opportunity for the cleansing that persists at all levels, for all things from action through thought, to that which is the material, too. As water is the cleansing agent and is the life agent among the living, physical living things of this planet, so to be immersed in that is to be immersed in true life, or that which is the Christ, the true cleansing agent.
Luke 8:35-37
Then they went out to see what was done; and came to Jesus, and found the man, out of whom the devils were departed, sitting at the feet of Jesus, clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid. They also which saw it told them by what means he that was possessed of the devils was healed. Then the whole multitude of the country of the Gadarenes round about besought him to depart from them; for they were taken with great fear: and he went up into the ship, and returned back again.
S It is always fearful for an individual to see another receive that which is mercy, that which is grace. It is always fearful for the mind of an individual to know it is happening within themselves, or it might happen within themselves. Even the threat of same happening to many drives them away in fear. And yet, and yet, as always, fear is but the absence of love, and love is God. Therefore, what have you to fear? This is that which we have referred to earlier – it is that which is the building of thorns within yourself, or of becoming rock hard. For you revert, even as those who had the wind and the rain and the storm stilled for them reverted. And yet, it gives the opportunity to take another step forward, and another. And to revert is but to regather, regroup and reaffirm, and go forward again.

And now we give that which is the love, the blessing of the Prince of Peace. We, who have traveled and walked with mankind – try to understand us and we try to understand you. We act, now, in that which is love, in blessing, from God the Father, from the throne of justice and mercy. We give you peace.

Awaken from the sleep. Behold the dawn of a new day. Rise up to the sun. Anoint thy head with the light of love. Behold the Lamb! It is true, He does take away the sins of the world. Therefore, open the heart, sing the song, and be aware.
Luke 8:38-39
Now the man out of whom the devils were departed besought him that he might be with him: but Jesus sent him away, saying, “Return to thine own house, and shew how great things God hath done unto thee”. And he went his way, and published throughout the whole city how great things Jesus had done unto him.
S This is intended for those, who, upon discovering that which is the Lord or the Lord’s way opening to the Christ, would secrete themselves, would hide themselves, or would live for themselves as a hermit, as one complete with that which is the discovery, rather than going into that which is the material world. For once again we will give you: you live in that which is the material world, the material place. You cannot hide from it, you cannot escape it. For it is the understanding and the overcoming, by living in and through the material, that you reach the spiritual and release the spiritual. That is why you are here. That is the lesson to be learned. And in so doing, you publish that which is God’s way, the glory, the greatness of the Lord, by your very works, your very acts, your very deeds.
Luke 8:40-42
And it came to pass, that, when Jesus was returned, the people gladly received him: for they were all waiting for him. And, behold, there came a man named Jairus, and he was a ruler of the synagogue: and he fell down at Jesus’ feet, and besought him that he would come into his house: For he had one only daughter, about twelve years of age, and she lay a dying. But as he went the people thronged him.
S As the individual becomes aware within self of that which is the spiritual nature of life, the construction of the body, the mind, and the spirit, there comes the call from within. There comes that which is the need from within to face that especially, beginning with the nerve centers themselves, or the twelve main nerve centers, to rejuvenate, to correct, to rebuild, through the thought processes, through the deeds of the mind, through the action of the tongue, and most of all, through faith and love.
Q In this particular instance, why were the people waiting for Jesus?
S Because the deeds had come before Him. They were the very ones who had rejected Him in a prior visit, a prior time. But the fame of the deeds of the man who became the Christ, Jesus of Nazareth, poured back upon them and they, in typical human achieve and be as You would have us be. Therefore, show us the way. Lead us on the path. fashion, you see, one minute decried and the next minute gave glory, gave tongue to the hurray, even as the people of today.
Luke 8:43-46
And a woman having an issue of blood twelve years, which had spent all her living upon physicians, neither could be healed of any, Came behind him, and touched the border of his garment: and immediately her issue of blood staunched. And Jesus said, “Who touched me?” When all denied, Peter and they that were with him said, “Master, the multitude throng thee and press thee, and sayest thou, ‘Who touched me?'” And Jesus said, “Somebody hath touched me: for I perceive that virtue is gone out of me.”
S Even where the individual, or the group, or the nation, has that which drains its energies, its vital flows, there is that which is the cleansing, the regrouping, the rebuilding, through that which is the holy way, the spirit of God, the working of the Christ. Even as an individual must seek redemption, cleansing, rejuvenation (though they seek through the physician, through their brother, their sister), healing, growth, et cetera, can only come through that which is the Christ Force, that which is the Holy Spirit, that which is God. It is true, mind is ever the builder. And on some planes and in circumstances, mind is the builder that constructs, that can rebuild or rejuvenate – allowed only by God to do same in freedom of choice and will. But that which is the cleansing, the true building and overcoming, is through that which is the spiritual nature, God in action, the Holy Spirit, or in the individual – the Christ.
Luke 8:47-48
And when the woman saw that she was not hid, she came trembling, and falling down before him, she declared unto him before all the people for what cause she had touched him, and how she was healed immediately. And he said unto her, “Daughter, be of good comfort: thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace.”
S Were the individual, were the nation or the world to understand and receive that which has just been given, there would be the universal healing of an individual, of a nation, of a world. For faith will make you whole. It is not the wholeness that you see as the individual eye of the human, but that which is the fullness of the spirit. For look around you. Many that seem to be the most whole, the most healthy, the most prosperous, are indeed those who miss the mark the greatest. And also you will see those who appear to be the most degenerated in body, the most sickly and poor, and yet, in the spiritual sense, they may be, or are, the greater. For God does not see with the eye of the human – only mankind does. And if man could only see through the eye of God, what a correction would take place. Therefore, have faith and it will make you whole. For what is wholeness? The drawing together of the aspects into that which is the individual, true soul-perfected, built in the image of God, a glory to the Maker, a jewel in the crown of creation. Q Is there a connection between hope and faith?
S Hope, yes, is the little brother of faith. Hope brings forth faith so often. And yet, which is the greater but faith, not hope. Hope is usually in that which is the individual who has not achieved in the spiritual or built that which is a firm foundation. For faith is that plank, that keystone in the arch, that is likened to the Cornerstone. He was rejected, but has arisen – through what? Faith. His faith has made Him whole. Let your faith in Him make you whole.
Luke 8:49-50
While he yet spake, there cometh one from the ruler of the synagogue’s house, saying to him, “Thy daughter is dead; trouble not the Master.” But when Jesus heard it, he answered him, saying, “Fear not: believe only, and she shall be made whole.”
S This again is faith. Regardless of the situation, or even as the outcome as you would see it, know that when you proceed in faith, when you proceed in the word, the very word of God (which is faith), you will be made whole. For remember, the greater you lies without [Holy Ghost], awaiting. The greater you lies within [Christ], awaiting. Let them join. Let them be whole. Let not that which is your conception of the world and things, through the human understanding, be centered in that which are the physical being and the physical world. It is true: you live in the physical, you abide in the material, but only for the short lesson period of learning, learning that which is the creation and the laws of the material.
Luke 8:51-56
And when he came into the house, he suffered no man to go in, save Peter, and James, and John, and the father and the mother of the maiden. And all wept, and bewailed her: but he said, “Weep not; she is not dead, but sleepeth.” And they laughed him to scorn, knowing that she was dead. And he put them all out, and took her by the hand, and called, saying, “Maid, arise.” And her spirit came again, and she arose straightway: and he commanded to give her meat. And her parents were astonished: but he charged them that they should tell no man what was done.
S Here, you see, even as you may receive from others that which is derision, or doubt within your own being, you must cast aside and put out that which is the frame of mind, that which is beleaguered by the material, that which belongs to mankind, and bring to yourself, faith, love, mercy, and charity, that that deed within yourself might be as great as that which the Master of Life performed. Though others may doubt, show faith, show understanding. Know within yourself that God has no end of what you would call miracles. For rather than miracles being that which is amazing, outstanding, know that it is the run of the mill, or reality showing itself, the realness of true life showing itself, rather than the exception.
