Matthew 5: Metaphysical Teachings from the Sermon on the MountThis document is a comprehensive spiritual analysis of the fifth chapter of the Gospel of Matthew, focusing on the metaphysical interpretations of the Sermon on the Mount. It explores the deeper symbolic meanings and spiritual insights of the teachings, emphasizing themes like faith, spiritual awakening, and personal growth through Christ’s teachings.

Matthew 5:13

And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain: and when he was set, his disciples came unto him: And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying, Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

S Here we have that which going to the high mountain or the meditation or opening that which is as the third eye to that which are the spiritual forces, and the blessings therein. For here, you see, is that which is not only guidance for the individual in acts towards others, but guidance within self of each individual in thought process, in body process. Here we have the first, then, the first opening, the first searching.

Q Was the Sermon on the Mount given at one time in one place? Please explain and comment on this incident.

S Eighty-seven incidents put into one, so thatby the writers to bring a prominence to certain teachings. We would comment to say this is the backbone of the teaching of the Prince of Love within the earth. [1016, 42075 ]

Q What is the meaning of being poor in spirit rather than strong in spirit?

S This means not to be overcome by ego. This is not to be having the intellect direct the body, direct the mind, direct the spiritual contents of the life, but, rather, have the will subjected to the spirit that the mind, then, may be subjected to the will in correct proportions.

Q Does it mean humble?

S To an extent it means humble, but not that to be slapped around or pushed around. lt also means strength of character.

Q Could it be said, ‘Blessed are the poor in ego’‘?

S Very correct. Remember, at those times there really was not a word for ego as ye have it now, or even in later times.

Matthew 5:4

Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.

S This is specifically directed to the awareness of the karmic debt that selves have, and the separation from God by will of man.

Matthew 5:5

Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.

S Here meek means those who are strong and steady in the faith. Not overpowering, but it does not mean those who’d be shoved around. lt means strong and steady in the faith, following that which is God.

Q Blessed are those who accept the will of God?

S Correct.

Q What does inherit the earth mean?

S Inherit the earth means that which is the power over yourself.

Matthew 5:6

Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.

S Those who would seek to do as they know best in the light of their understanding of the will of God, regardless if at times they are under improper influence, or misconception, or have not developed the greater understanding of the will of God. They will be comforted; they will be filled. For God is ever aware of man’s striving. For it is in the striving, the search, that man succeeds, not in the attaining.

Matthew 5:7

Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.

S If there is a greater commandment or a greater directive, we cannot give it to you, for mercy implies all things that are as the positive nature, or the truth of God. Mercy in the mind, mercy in the actions, mercy in all things, being loving, kind, and good.

Matthew 5:8

Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.

S This pertains to that which is the cleansing of the internal man, the eternal mind that is known as the subconscious, by feeding and pouring into it that which is pure, that which is good, and by fighting the good fight against the very nature of the bodies and the minds that ye as entities have come into possession of.

Matthew 5:9

Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.

S This is peace within self. Peace through that of meditation and prayer.

Matthew 5:10

Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousnesssake: for their’s is the kingdom of heaven.

S This does not mean that you are delivered to the torturers or the ridicule of thy neighbor. No. This means that which ye fight within yourself to achieve to that which is the spiritual nature, or the spiritual being. For ye must persecute that which is the ego, that which is vanit(for all is vanity), to find that which is the truth of thy being.

Q Does this refer to the many deaths that a person experiences through life in order to be reborn?

S This is correct.

Matthew 5: 11

Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.

S The key word here in understanding is “falsely”. When people attack you because of the spiritual nature of self, not for other reasons but for the spiritual nature and your own spiritual leaning, then you are sacrificing that which is the ego or the ego personality in that which is the spiritual pursuit.

Q_Would you expand upon “for my sake‘? I would expect the Master to be referring to His Father [as] our Father, rather than my”.

S Our Father, my Father, remember, ye have said it yourself many times in quotations, “all are one. In truth you are one. You do not realize that you are one. This is why ye must save your brother, your sister, to save yourself. My Father is our Father, your Father, their Father.

 Matthew 5:12-16

Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you. Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost its savor, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men. Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

S This, then, is the life of Jesus. For you see, here was that which could not be hid and would not be hid. For here was that which was attacked. Here was that which was the salt. For if that which is the savior (or savour here, both being the same) could not do that which was the intention or the way, then those who would be saved, would not be saved, and would end up even as those souls, those entities that, in that which is their reckoning time, have not chosen God. But God returns them to Himself, taking away their personality, their awareness.

Q What is meant by great is your reward in heaven”?

S For ye find God.

S Harken to the light! Open your eyes! Open the ears and be aware, oh souls, that the Lord thy God walks, talks and lives within each and every child, that His way may be known to every individual who would seek to see and know His face, by turning within to that which is the Source of Life itself– the Christ. Even as given, ‘Let the light shine so before thee, that all may know the good works of the Father that dwells within.[1015, 4-8-7 5]

Matthew 5:17-18

Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

S Jesus, here, was telling the people what His body, His mind, His soul knew: that there are the laws, but the supreme law is that which He, Jesus, came to be, to represent (must be found in each and every entity – and can be). For it is there. That which overcomes all lawgrace. For grace is God. Therefore, if ye would attain, if ye would wipe out the past, if ye would help your brothers and sisters do the same, then you must do that which is the Christ. For ye must release the Christ from within, even as Jesus.

Q In Matthew 5:18, until heaven and earth pass awaysuggests that heaven is as much a creation of God as earth. Is this true?

S This is true. And what must be understood is: those stages attributed to heaven are stages of development towards that which is the oneness, towards that which is the god formation of selves. And even those stages will be destructed at the time they must be. For even as this plane is a temptation of a kind in the material, so there are the temptations of other planes, in the learning there, that make each and everyone go on past that which is the area they are in. For there are those grey areas, those dark areas, where the seething souls are found. Then there are those areas of beauty and comfort, of great awareness, which many would latch on to and stay at. For there is that which are the last vestiges of the ego self. Beyond that, then, are those stages of the truth, or the light, where there is no more of the ego, only that which is as the perfection of the soul forces in action, or that which is the truth of being released. From this area did Jesus return to be the Christ. This is the area of sacrifice that none other could do.

Q Are these other planes also illusionary like this plane is?

S As illusionary as this plane. That which are the planes of light are God, and this is where ye attain to, to become that which is the god abuilded.

Q When you use the word illusionary, could it be defined as a mistake, not in accord with the will of God, but, nevertheless, actually in existence?

S ln existence, not selected or built by God but built by man, though God perfected that which you have come into, or this plane. It was from that which was builded by man in their selection, their will, to go about their way.

Q Is there any illusion in the seventh plane?

S Negative.

Q How many planes are there or heavens?

S There are seven and that which is the eighth which is God.

Matthew 5:1920

Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.

S Now here pertains to that which is the misuse of the laws, even as the scribes, so forth. We find here, you see, the real meaning of this are those who use the spiritual powers well, not so much that which is the Christ Force because it cannot be used incorrectly but those forces that are often alluded to as to that which is spiritual, much of the psychical nature here for personal gain, gratification, ego, vanity, what have you. These are those who warp themselves and do not choose to become one with God.

Matthew 5: 21-22

Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment: But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall  be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.

S Here is, then, mind is the builder. For as ye build even towards your brother, ye build towards yourself. Those who would condemn are those who destroy. And ever is God the Creator, not the destroyer. You are then acting in that which is the opposite, or opposition, of God. This is that which is the fool. This is that which cries Raca. This is that which goes afoul of the law.

Q What does hell fire refer to here or symbolize?

S Hell fire is that which is the cleansing for the individuals, going to the planet that cleanses self the more.

Q ls that Saturn?

S Saturn.

Q About killing. Whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment.’ Is that just mankind or does ... ?

S That is killing of the soul within self, or that which is the desire of the soul to be back with the Father or find that which is the oneness. Remember, the soul is imprisoned within self and hungers for the release of self. Killing the soul is like destroying the body of another human or even, to an extent, another animal.

Q The Revised Standard Version omits the phrase ‘without a cause‘, reading simply that everyone who is angry with his brother shall bliable to judgment. Is this more correct?

S Not so. For there is righteous anger, even as He, the Prince of Love and Peace, demonstrated in cleansing the temple which was His Father’s house.

Q What does ‘Racamean?

S Varied expression here. It means to spit upon. It also means, to an extent, condemn. No meaning in English really on condemnation, but more or less the condemning or throwing out of one from salvation.

Q Is it just as bad to refer to someone not present as a fool as it is to call a person a fool to the person‘s face?

S More so.

Q Back to this word ”killagain. If that is taken at all literally, you mentioned animals, does this mean insects, flowers, and so forth?

S You, as all humans, are given dominion over all living things upon the planet not each other but other things. And as the necessity for the individual at the individual stage is, then killing comes under this light. For as ye progress. not just in the desire (for the desire in itself is wrong), but as it unfolds within self and ye reject and truly reject, not convincing self to reject, then it becomes the law for self.

Q A Cayce reading gives the following affirmation: Father, let thy desires be my desires, let my desires, God, be Thy desires in spirit and in truth.A Ram reading states: ‘Desire, in itself, is wrong.” Please clarify this seeming discrepancy.

S No discrepancy. For when you give yourself up to that which is the will of God, you have no personal desires. You express that which is Gods expression.

Q Is there an affirmation which would be more applicable for use on desire? Please clarify this seeming discrepancy.

S Of course. But next week it must change for the success of the first, and each following time it would change and change. For, you see, do not become as onetracked onto a certain thing. And this is what is meant by the heathens in their prayers, reciting many times, over and over, those things which are absolutely meaningless. Only meaning can be applied to a progressive self. Therefore, that is why you have been given meditation. Your meditation is that which progresses self. Each entity, each individual, must find his or her way. You have a source within you that is beyond that which is measured in affirmations given through any source. For you have that which is the tie-in with the God Force within, the Christ, that will change each and every need, each and every service, each and every thought, if you would but use it. Then, if you must cry out, if you must seek, use this but only for the short time, the beginning: Lord, my God, in faith I come to you seeing that Thy love overcomes all that is negative in my life, as I think negative to be. Oh, Father of love and mercy, hear my prayer and put me on that which is the right path in the right plane at this time. [10-139, 5-11-85]

Q The psalmist spoke, As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul for Thee, oh God.” Is that not desire? Why must we give up desire?

S Remember, the psalmist, those of the Psalms, spoke in the tongue of the day, wrote in the tongue of the day, even as you speak. Remember that speech in itself is a lowly thing. Would you compare your spirit, your soul, with that of a four-footed creature as the hart? You see, symbols, metaphors, and such, are a part of language. They are those things that comprehension through the spoken word is given. Desire is that of this earth. There is a Godly desire, but you do not possess it, for you have these untold lives of selfishness, of being the human that has established in yourself that which is a pattern and that pattern is desire. It is a plane of that which is meant to be the challenge to the human tendencies and the failings of humanity is desire. For desire is of selfishness. Unselfishness is not desire. It is giving away that which is the selfish.

Q Were we souls responsible for the creation of noxious insects?

S Took life form and caused it to change through the power that was able at that time, through the mental imaging. Yes.

Q What is the danger of the council?

S The danger of the council is going before yourself. This is self-judgment. Cannot be escaped. Ye set before yourself, as ye go into those upper planes, and see yourself in truth and light. And then, here, ye must adjust the karmic judgment. For ye assess the karmic judgment upon yourself. No one else. No one else does it, and ye do it not to another.

Q The age called the dinosaur or reptilian age, did the souls have anything to do with that or are we misunderstanding?

S Directly a cause of that.

Q Then we got involved in this planet a very, very, long time ago, according to that.

S Yes, and around the planet, too.

Q In Life After Life, it speaks about some people experiencing their life being projected, their total life being projected, in front of them when they pass on. Is this what you’re referring to when we judge ourselves?

S No. This is just seeing your life. lt is not the judgment area at that time.

Matthew 5:2326

Therefore, if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee; Leave there thy gift before the altar and, go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift. Agree with thine adversary quickly, whiles thou art in the way with him; lest at any time the adversary deliver thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and thou be cast into prison. Verily I say unto thee, thou shalt by no means come our thence, till thou hast paid the uttermost farthing.

S Here ye have that which is prayer and meditation to come before the Father with thy gift. And believe it or not, it is a gift. The Father accepts it as a gift. For ye are giving freely, free will gift to Him. And this is why He feeds His children at that time. As to that which is the adversary and going before the court and the judgment, and being cast into that which is prison, are those actions of self through desire – and this is what is meant by agreeing with the adversary. For if ye go through that which is desire, for when one argues with you, what do you do? You rile towards them. If you agree, meaning here ye fight not that which are those base things that are not of God, then you will succeed. If you give in to desire, to rebel, to fight, to have those things ever so righteousyou are condemning yourself, and this is the karmic prison.

Q Then not fighting back is an agreement?

S You are in agreement when you follow that which is the path of God, that is to say, not even having the desire to fight back. That means that ye dont give up, nor do you go the wrong way, or fall to those who would have you do this or that, that you know is not of God. But you agree and do not react.

Q What does the officer represent?

S The officer represents that which is in self, or that force which makes you come before yourself to find karma.

Q And the judge and the prison?

S The judge is self-rendering judgment upon the actions of self. And the prison is the body you inhabit.

Q Does this punishment manifest itself in physical illness?

S It manifests itself in rebirth, reincarnation, and all the ramifications of same.

Matthew 5:2728

Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, “Thou shalt not commit adultery”: But I say unto you, “That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.”

S These are the choosing, or fallingfalling away from that which is the path. It has nothing to do, really, with the physical so much, but shows you the mind power, and that mind is ever the builder. And that which ye build within the mind is builded onto a plane until it comes into this plane that ye inhabit now.

Q This would be an astral plane, then?

S Correct.

Q Did He choose this example because of man’s preoccupation with sex, thinking that the message would get across better that way than any other?

S One of the basic desires, or the base desires, which is a correct desire, if desires are correct. Don’t think of it as an urge. It‘s not. However, misused, though, this is the wrong usage. This is why, as ye have so ably put it, it was selected.

Matthew 5:29-30

And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell. And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.

S Here you have that which is a directive that there is nothing too great to give up for that which is God and God‘s glory. This is an indication of selfsacrifice, or becoming selfless. For as has been said, ‘the eye is that which beholds‘, and as ye see, as ye conceive of things, so shall it be. And if ye conceive or see wrong, it should be cast aside. If you would handle or hand to others things that are wrong, then you cut them off, or destroy it, or put it aside. Not so much a physical directive, but, once again, that which is a spiritual and mental directive.

Q Is this actually the ‘eye” or could it be the first personal pronoun ”I” and referring to negative aspects of our personalities?

S First, you have a double meaning here. One, as interpreted in the tongues of the time, but differently than now, meaning that parts of the personality or that of actions of self, or the understanding of self being negative, being oppressive, being that which you term wrong, to be cast aside, change, to rethink, to re-be, to be reborn again – a renaissance of self, see. The second, meaning that which is as the metaphysical self bringing forth the true eye rather than the eye of the physical, but the eye that is within self, or the I AM eye, the third eye as ye would know it, or that which is the spiritual nature of self, throwing aside that which is the physical, seeing the physical understanding, the physical being.

Q Does the right arm then have the same significance?

S lt does.

Q Then why didn’t they say left?

S Because, you see, they would assume ( even as most people at this time assume that ‘might is right“) that most people in view of this room, or in other places in this nation, these peoples, happen to be righthanded, which goes to the left side of the mind, the animal nature of self, rather than the higher self, which is the left going to the right – if you understand. [10-13, 12474]

Q Why were these difficult parables given? Why wasn’t the general public told what you are telling us now?

S For they could not conceive of it. They were not ready and they had not earned that which was the opportunity, or had not the background. For it takes so many, many, many rebirths to begin, even at the depths of self, to attain or to know what has been given up, and why the physical plane is not that which is meant for entities.

Q Was this just given to His disciples, as stated at the beginning?

S Originally it was only given to the disciples, but it was repeated many times. Never, though, in great groups, but usually at dinner groups, small affairs.

Q Is the Didache that was found in the library at Nicaea in 179 an accurate description of the instructions to the apostles as prepared by James and the others in Jerusalem?

 S Yes.

Matthew 5:3132

It hath been said, “Whosoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of divorcement”: But I say unto you, “That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of f ornication, causeth her to commit adultery; and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.”

S This, then, is throwing aside the path, divorcing the way, finding only that which is a change of direction when the path has been contaminated by self. For the wife is ever, here, representational of that which holds self together, or holds the path, or is that which is as the comforter. This is why, you see, that in later times there were those who directed others not to marry. For they felt that, even symbolically, no one else should hold this duty – only self. To an extent correct, to an extent incorrect, depending upon the individual needs of an entity.

Matthew 5:333 7

Again, ye have heard that it hath been said by them of old time, Thou shalt not forswear thyself, but shalt perform unto the Lord thine oaths: But I say unto you, “Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is God’s throne: Nor by the earth; for it is his footstool: neither by Jerusalem; for it is the city of the great King. Neither shalt thou swear by thy head, because thou canst not make one hair white or black. But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil”

S Once again, this is vanity and desire and asking or directing selves to throw aside, to put aside desire and vanity. For all these things as are mentioned here are directly results of vanity and desire.

Q Does swear not at all mean to take no oaths, no vows?

S This means that self cannot desire to curse others or take the Lord‘s name in vain, et cetera. This does not mean that what some people think of as profanity is wrong. For it is the idea behind it. If there is no idea behind the words, the verbiage, then nothing has been done except that which is the relieving of the individual of those forces that are negative within self, and many times held within are destructive to that being. Though those who would use this, be careful! For in offending others ye have allowed them to create negative thoughts over the verbiage– though they should be able to control their thoughts, too.

Q Does this have anything to do with taking an oath like the pledge of allegiance, or oaths taken in court?

S No. Has no bearing.

Q Does it mean simply never to say, ”I promise, I give assurance, I will”, et cetera, but to say, ”Yes, if it be God‘s will”?

S You may promise, but always inside of self, know that with God’s acceptance it will be so, and not with self’s. This is once again ego.

S There must be the uniting of the spirits, guided by the soul forces, the intellects, the abilities of all, seeing not in one another or even those who would cast stones, the negative, or the hurtful. And let thy word, then, be yea or nay, even as He gave that any other would tend to destroy selves. But trust in who is the Way. Turn to God and know that all is well. [10-15, 4-18-75]

Matthew 5:38-39

Ye have heard that it hath been said, “An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth”. But I say unto you, “That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also”.

S This, again, is a judgment in self that ye cannot, or must realize, that ye cannot harm or judge others. For that which comes to you, by one way or another, is either selection by self through karmic ways or an opportunity for self to grow. Therefore, you should not strike back in any manner, but realize what the situation is. And here is where that which is communication comes into being.

S And then when evil besets thee, return it with love, kindness, charity, forgiveness. And in that which are the tribulations, mount, surmount them in peace, seeking not the rebuttal of force, but be that which is flexible; be that which will bend. Even as a good sword would bend but not break, let thy spirit bend but not break, allowing that which is the soul to be tampered and tempered by that which are the tribulations that surmount thee. Whether it is the normal run of the day, or those of greater importance, remember the Father knows the truth of each and every individual, knows what you are…He knows thy truth. [10-15, 4-18-75]

Matthew 5:40.42

And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloak also. And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain. Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away.

S Once again, this is telling whether people take advantage of you as the suing, or asking you as a brother, you should always give of self and of substance for those who are in need-whether it is real need or imagined need. That there are needy always in this world – not of just the material goods, but of thy love, thy efforts, thy help, the smiles all these things.

Q That brings up a problem. If you have someone, well just use an example of a magazine salesman who is trying to fulfill his quota, and he claims that he is going to go to college if he sells so many subscriptions. And you know that from your inner feelings that this cant be so. You‘re willing to go part way with him, but he is insistent on quadrupling it, and then you refuse to go along with him at all because he won‘t do that which you have agreed. Is this wrong?

S It is wrong if self keeps the money, or the equivalent, whatever it is, time, money, for self. If the magazine salesman asks of you $5.00 and you, in truth, will give that same $5.00 to some worthy cause, or worthy person that you know is in need, who’s crying also, then you may, in all goodness, in all clarity of vision, turn that aside. For supply and demand is that which is by necessity limited in most individuals. There are those who have achieved in that which is supply and demand and can tap a supply at all times. Then it is sin for them not to give. But as ye have developed, so you may give to your development.

Q Then in opposite to this, at about the same time, as a matter of fact, I had an individual, a man, come to the door, who offered to cut wood for me for only 50 cents (and, of course, I was amazed at that) and I told him I didn‘t have anything. I had a dollar in my purse, and I gave that to him. And the smile upon his face was really glorious to behold. What have we here?

S An opportunity.

Q What about all these envelopes that come in the mail? We call them junk mail, but they are filled with request after request from organizations asking for money.

S If ye give that amount that they ask, donation to a cause, whether it is a new or an old cause, then you have fulfilled.

Q If a person has difficulty with liquor and they spend their money unwisely on the liquor and then run out of money until they receive more– their next allotment comes inand theyre asking for help here, and they don’t seem to learn their lesson, what would you recommend?

S Would you bring a prostitute into your home? Would ye give money to the addict? Would ye give heroin to one who is hooked? No. Ye have reasoning, ye have will. But if he asks you for $5.00 for liquor, then you give $5.00 to a worthy cause.

Q You don’t suppose this person would die of hunger, that this person would get along until their next allotment?

S Entities have that which is selection. And there are those who spend their lives and channel their funds and resources for those individuals,

if they are searching and seeking for the truth and help. And if they are truly searching, truly trying, the help will be there.

Matthew 5:43-45

Ye have heard that it hath been said, “Thou shalt love thy neighbor, and hate thine enemy”. But I say unto you, “Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them whicdespitefully use you, and persecute you; That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust”.

S Here you have that which is an explanation, almost directly, of that which is the wheel of karma and the directions of how to break it once that Jesus became christed and became the Way and gave to the world that which is redemption, or the truth of redemption, the true mercy. For you see here, ye have that which is the understanding of reaction and action; action and reaction, over and over again.

Q What is the lesson to be learned by a negative experience?

S That the rain will fall on the good as well as the bad. That in the karmic  order of things, to be part of this world is to be part of thy brother, thy sister’s karma. That which others may incur upon self is not always that which is earned by self. What is the lesson? Be patient, be loving, be kind, regardless of the situation. Having mercy, charity, upon all of those who have offended thee or find offense in thee. [10-14, 2-22-75]

Q Is it possible for a challenge or a difficulty to come into one’s life which has not been caused by self? And if one does keep attuned, can he keep difficulties out of his life, or must difficulties come?

S Difficulties will come. This is as a tempering of the blade of the soul. There are those things which are created by others. For you see, each and every individual, each and every entity is as a creator, and they create for you conditions, and they create for themselves conditions. This is as a whirlpool of world thought. Ye cannot escape getting wet if you fall in the ocean. lt is as given that the rain falls on the good and the bad, the just and the unjust. This is as the truth. Life is not that of gold, honey, that of sunshine. lt is trial and tribulation by that which the soul grows. Take each and every thing as it comes as a God given opportunity to overcome this world, even as He overcame it. [10-5, 1214-73]

S Have ye not read ‘Love thine enemy; do good to he that hates you; bless him that curses you, pray for him that despitefully uses you.If ye are the salt of the earth, the chosen ones, can ye act less? Is there one among you who could look Christ in the and say, ‘I am free of hate, criticism, maladjustment, foolishness?” [1010, 621-74]

Matthew 5:46-48

For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same? And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so? Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

S No man can be perfect without the Father. Therefore, you seek that within yourself the Father in heaven, the perfection that lies within, the Christ Force, the I AM, through that which is meditation. And ye accept your body and the needs therein, the mind and its needs, but controlled, directed by that which is the spirit of God within.

Q What does the word publican (seems to be used in a disparaging fashion by the Master) refer to?

S Tax collectors.

Q It states here that we should pray for those who despitefully use us. Some people don’t want to be prayed for.

S You pray for their general good. ‘Thy will be done, Father.’

Q Is the Father and the heaven both within, then?

S The Father in heaven is within and without, even as the kingdom of heaven is within and without.
